I like to cook and test new recipes and always used my own notebook for noting down what I cooked. So then I started to digitise it and figured I should just make a public database of excellent recipes worth trying.

March 2022 New logo and tagline

After 204 days of being live lindyrecipe got a new logo and tagline. New tagline "library of excellent recipes" is more precisely explaining what the blog is about; logo and improved social media kit also helps achieving more professional look while maintaining simplicity.

December 21, 2021 Published 100 curated recipes

I have finally reached 100 curated recipes; I started with 59 recipes when launching on August 29th. I had a goal to reach 100 before year end, so it is a success. Next milestones are to publish more traditional Slovenian recipes and to promote the page on different channels.

November 3, 2021 Passed 1000 total visitors

A small step towards the goal of getting to 1000 monthly visitors. In the last two months I mainly used my own channels to promote the page and had bigger bumps from posting on Twitter (private account) and Facebook (204 likes + private account) on a weekly basis.

September 14, 2021 Facebook Page setup

I decided to rename my old blog page with 160 Likes to use it as a growth channel and traffic generator for my blog. I have also started to think about the publishing tempo and how to consolidate and align posts on all the channels available (mainly personal Twitter, Instagram and Facebook Page).

August 29, 2021 Go-live with 59 recipes

After deciding on the template (GeneratePress) and verifying my proposed structure with some of my friends, I started to develop and in the process learned how to build pages with WP. So easy. I wanted to publish at least 50 recipes before opening the page, so that it does not look stupid.

August 13, 2021 Implementation started

After my initial idea and having already bought the lindyrecipe.com domain in May, I bought the hosting (Hostinger) and started to research WP as an alternative to Hugo. I looked for fast and responsive domains and started to play around in WP. I had no prior experience, but managed to pick up fast.

May 12, 2021 Idea + domain purchase

I like to cook and always collected my recipes in my notebook. But what if I go somewhere, and my notebook is not there? So I first started to collect my recipes in Google Sheets, and occasionally posted them on Twitter. But there was no real interest, so I started to think about online database. Next thing was to come up with a name and buy the domain.
