Say goodbye to never-ending lists, and hello to daily bliss
Diagnosed with ADHD over 10yrs ago and now on a life long quest to build tools that will help increase focus and attention.
Excited to launch on PH 😸. Got a lot of nice comments and feedback.
Started off at #1 for a few hours, but ended up at #12. You can read more about it here: https://www.indiehackers.com/post/my-task-manager-is-currently-1-on-product-hunt-31f43a3080
One thing I have learnt from previous startups is that 'launch day' is never really 'one day'. It's definitely a nice milestone and provides some momentum, but what's important is how you use that momentum going forward.
10 months ago, I gave myself the challenge of learning to code, then to launch a product from scratch. Today I'm celebrating the launch of Llama v1.0! 🎉
Llama is a productivity tool that helps you power through lists, not just make them.
The name comes from one of my favorite travel experiences to Peru where I visited a small town to learn about their culture. While I was there, Llamas were roaming around their village - those Llama's looked so relaxed and were leading the best life 🦙⛰
This is my attempt at leading a 'Llama life'. I find a huge correlation between my mood and my productivity levels during the day. During these Covid times, being productive has been all the more challenging and important, so I built Llama.
It's been a journey - from knowing no code to learning html, css, javascript -> React, flexbox, styled components, webpack, git, node.js/express, Stripe integration for payments, Firebase for user authentication and database. The hardest part for me was learning how everything related to one another - eg do I host my frontend and backend together, where does the server go? These might sound like newbie questions, but going through it the first time, you just don't know what you don't know.
Want to give a shoutout to fellow Indie Hacker, Jen @lunchbag, who helped point me in the right direction by giving tips about her setup and helping troubleshoot when I got stuck.
Cheers all, and hope you enjoy Llama! www.llamalife.co
Any and all feedback is welcome!

Shared with a few family and friends. Realised that even when you tell people directly that 'it doesn't work yet on mobile' they try and use it on mobile 🤦🏻♀️. Don't rely on telling people how to use it - that must be inherently built into the experience - unspoken.
Llama began as a learning project - I had decided to learn javascript a few months earlier, and todo lists are a great practical project for touching on fundamental programming concepts. I later moved on to a different idea, but returned to develop Llama further because I realised that productivity and focus are areas I'm highly passionate about - you know when you browse the AppStore and find yourself always gravitating toward certain types of apps? That was me and productivity - I must have downloaded almost all of them but they were always missing something. So I decided to go all in and make my own. The result - and ongoing result I should say, as it's constantly improving - is Llama!
