After more than 20 years joint experience working with businesses, implementing and managing CRMs, we've come to the conclusion that we need to create the CRM those customers needed in the first place.

June 13, 2022 Unfortunately, we've reached the last milestone.

After several months of working to secure some funding for Macanta, we have unfortunately had to make the very difficult decision to close down Macanta.

We are working on a solution to give our customers as much time as possible to export data and migrate to a replacement solution, but right now I can not say how long that will be. At a maximum it will be 60 days from today. (12 August 2022)

Unfortunately there is no cut-down way to keep Macanta running, which means that just keeping the lights on for the next 60 days will amount to thousands of dollars in cost on our end, to keep the infrastructure running.

I am aware that me saying this will have no impact on the reality of it, but believe me, the impact this will have on our customers' businesses in the next few weeks is not lost on me at all. I am deeply sorry that we are unable to help support their businesses any further.

Having worked on Macanta tirelessly for over 6 years now, I am very sad to see it fail. I am however immensely proud of our team and the product we were creating here every day.

If you have any questions about exporting your data, please let us know via the support email inside your Macanta account, and we will do everything we can to help. Unfortunately, we won't be able to help with migrations to other platforms or choosing a replacement. (I really don't know of another tool that does what Macanta does.) We will also not be continuing with any feature development or bug fixes going forward.

April 21, 2022 (small) New Feature

We've had many requests over time, to allow for contacts without email addresses. This causes all manner of issues with contact management and some API functionality too.

So, we decided to make it possible, without breaking things.
Users can now add contacts without email addresses and Macanta will generate a unique temporary email.
