June 15, 2022 We're now "Recommended for Google Workspace"

Mailmeteor, the Google Sheets add-on that started as a side-project, is now a 4 million users application, just curated by Google to be part of their new "Recommended for Google Workspace" program.

The Recommended for Google Workspace program is a Google-curated list of secure, reliable, and well-integrated Google Workspace apps. There's only 12 apps in the Google Workspace marketplace that are recommended by Google...

March 8, 2022 10 Tips to Send Emails Like a Boss

Email is one of the most important tools in communication. Unlike chatting, emails take a while to get a reply, so it鈥檚 less likely for you to be able to gauge what the receiver is thinking. You need to give yourself every chance to succeed in getting your point across.

So today I am going to share 10 tips on how to better write emails, and make sure your emails don鈥檛 end up in the spam folder when using Mailmeteor.

May 1, 2020 500,000 users on Mailmeteor

Half a million users. A year after our launch, Mailmeteor reached the astounding figure of 500,000 users.

Mailmeteor also became the best-rated app of all the Google Marketplace, with over 2000 positive reviews. One of our main challenges is to limit the time spent on support while keeping the highest level of care for our users.

Hopefully, we can count on the vibrant indie maker community on this journey!

December 19, 2019 Live on Product Hunt

Today is a big day! Mailmeteor is live on Product Hunt.

Some could say that we took our time to make a PH. So why now?

First, we wanted the product to be solid, totally trustable and also have a very good understanding of the usage. Our users are now sending thousands of emails per hour, so I think we achieved that.

Second, doing a PH takes a lot of time! We didn鈥檛 figure it out at first. We thought about PH in August with a target to launch end of September. But then we started to read many articles on how to make it. There were countless of actions to make before the launch. We built so many spreadsheets, with list and list of tasks and contacts. Jean (@cuireuncroco) fine tuned the whole process and also managed to record a video in motion design (which is gorgeous and took a long time to make!).

Third, we never made a PH before but always dreamed to. We feel like Mailmeteor could be a good fit for the PH community. And so far it鈥檚 doing great! But we definitely know that it might probably change. 馃

In the end, 3 months out of schedule, we are live on PH. Does it worth the effort? I鈥檒l tell you Tomorrow. But at least we learned a lot and, above all, I now have a screenshot proving that (for a few minutes at least) we have been product of the day 馃樆

December 12, 2019 100,000 users on Mailmeteor

Today Mailmeteor has reached the 100,000 users milestone 馃弳

It took 8 months to grow Mailmeteor to this stage. Months and months of experiments & learnings. Back in early October, we had published a milestone here for the 40k users milestone!

One of the most valuable lessons so far: the hardest part is not about building the product but finding efficient channels of distribution.

We're now able to shift our focus to 80% distribution / 20% building (at least we're trying to!!). Though it's always hard to find the balance, especially at the very beginning.

Next week's challenge is all about trying a new distribution channel: we'll be launching on Product Hunt.

Can we count on your upvotes? 鈽勶笍

October 17, 2019 +40K users on Mailmeteor

About a month ago, I reported here that we reached 25K users. That was already quite an impressive milestone! Well, 40 days later, we are now at 42K users (+17K 馃槺)

We are a team of two behind that project; @Cuireuncroco and myself. That鈥檚 a lot of pressure on us to deal with such amount of users.

We did our best to automate the support. Including using Google Apps scripts to send emails, like 芦聽Welcome onboard聽禄 and 芦聽Thanks for purchasing聽禄. These scripts are integrated right into our inbox, so we can very easily schedule them, change the content, filter the segment that receives them, and so on.

One other thing that reduces the time allowed to support is that we set ourself a mantra: try to do the as low features as possible. It鈥檚 quite common to have users complaining about a missing feature. Well we definitely don鈥檛 rush to code it.

We are focusing on providing the best mail merge experience possible, and that鈥檚 totally fine if others provide more features than we do (as long as we鈥檙e providing the best experience ever).
