I created a simple landing page at https://makemoney.dev and added a form in case someone was interested to subscribe and get a notification once I'm launching.
Apparently, it got over 300 subscribers in about a week. The big part came from my previous email newsletter of about 2k people and the rest from Twitter.
I didn't promote it a lot but here and there I shared the progress and people joined the newsletter.
After I launched the idea I started looking for a Domain Name for the new project. It wasn't easy to find a good one but when I found one it turned out to be quite expensive: $427.70... 😅
But then it hit me. I could leverage my Twitter audience in order to find a Sponsor. In exchange for getting the domain name, I offered a special section on the future website on the "sponsors" page.
After a couple of minutes, someone contacted me and we had a deal! 🔥
Shortly after that, I got 4 more people interested but I already made the deal so I had to turn them down but I might consider them again once the website goes live.
I wrote a tweet announcing what I want to try and it got people hyped which gave me a boost in actually starting to work on the idea.
I got the idea from the eBook I'm writing: gumroad.com/l/makemoneydev
I wanted a place where I can share more about my journey and also wanted to get myself and others motivated by the idea.
I want to share how I'm making money as a developer using different methods like blogging, Youtube, freelancing, mentoring and I want to try new ways too like building a SaaS and/or Digital Products.
