By tweeting useful stuff which gets shared (threads have worked well)

At the end of some of my longer articles I add this line, "Not going to lie, this article to a while to put together. If you want to show some encouragement please follow @GoodMarketingHQ on twitter."

Utilising your own twitter. So personally I had 1.5k followers. So I have retweeted myself.

Getting followers on Twitter is a fat tailed distribution. What I mean is you might get one new followers a day and then one day you'll get 500 in one go. It's just about getting lucky and the right moment coming. Getting lucky could come in the form of a retweet from an account with lots of followers.
