Mastershot

Today marks the day of a complete rewrite of the rendering engine functionality for Mastershot. With this update users can now move images/video around in the main view freely. This paves the way for features like "picture in picture", grids, and much more. I'm super excited about the direction this is headed!

Launched the second tool in Mastershot's Toolbox. You can now easily trim large videos into smaller video clips all within the browser! You no longer have to wait to upload your files to a 3rd party server.

After overcoming a massive technical limitation with the previous tool (making the tool work cross-browser), this tool was much easier to create.

I've launched the first tool in what's to become Mastershot's Toolbox. You can now easily extract audio from video all without waiting for your files to upload to the server. Everything happens in the browser!

Additionally, I overcame a major technical limitation that was only allowing the tool to work in Chromium based browser, but now it has complete cross-browser support!

I've been reading a lot online about the necessity of creating a blog for your product, and here it is. It was quite painful to set up unfortunately since I'm using a different tech stack than the one that Ghost intended, but I managed to get it working in the end!

After about 3 months of work, I've finally launched the initial version of Mastershot! Interestingly enough, I started Mastershot as a technical challenge to myself to see if the browser had progressed enough to be able to create a fully in-browser video editor. Today I'm excited to announce that it is possible, and Mastershot is it.

Since it started as a challenge to myself, I'm launching it with all its features 100% free until I determine how to proceed from here.
