Came up with the idea

The idea to the app came up during a long walk in the forest. Milly had moved to Sweden one and a half months ago and were currently studying hard to learn Swedish. There are a lot of great resources for writing, reading and listening. But when it comes to speaking, we generally rely on practicing with each other.

Not everyone who moves to a new country have someone native speaking to practice with. And even if you have, it's not always the most fruitful conversations as the complexity has to be kept at a minimum.

Modern speak recognition technology is great, and it's constantly getting better. So we saw an opportunity to take advantage of this and build an app where you can speak a sentence and get feedback for whether or not the speech-to-text service is able to correctly classify the words.
