September 23, 2021 Launched on Emoji Launch

A few days ago, Moodistory was approved to be launched on Emoji Launch. Today is the day - Moodistory went live with a big beautiful blue heart. Our goal is to receive 1000 upvotes - curious if we are going to make it today. You're more than welcome to stop by! :)

September 17, 2021 Full blown Apple Watch App

After receiving lots of feedback that a lot of users actually use the Apple Watch mainly to create diary entries for Moodistory we put the focus on improving the Watch app. As a result of this, today, we released a new update which will let users create mood entries with all details. Before this was limited to mood and notes - now you can even add activities/events.

March 29, 2021 Got 1000 five-star ratings on the App Store

Finally, my mood tracking app Moodistory has reached the goal of receiving more than 1000 5-star ratings on Apple's App Store. This results in a world-wide average rating of 4.7 stars. Moodistory went live on August, 1st 2018 which means it took me 2 years and 8 months to reach 1000 5-star ratings. I'm asking my users ONCE to rate my app, usually a few days after they have installed and used it. Additionally, there is a rate-button within the app that - when tapped - takes users to the App Store to rate Moodistory.

August 12, 2020 Added frequently asked feature.

Keeping track of all feedbacks helps a lot in prioritizing development. No matter which feedback I get, I add it to my feature-for-development list and categorize them. As a result, I can easily identify the most asked-for features. Today, I've added one of those features: Images. From now on, users can add images to their mood entries. This doesn't just look pretty but serves an important purpose: To better remember situations and connected emotions. It makes it easier to reflect the past.
Also, I've added support for a new language: Korean! 🇰🇷🥳

April 24, 2020 More localizations - Spanish and French!

Over the last months I've found out that localization is very important to reach a larger audience. Especially for "personal" apps like my mood tracker app, this is key. Since Moodistory was available in English, German, Japanese and simplified Chinese, I've now added Spanish and French! 🎉

February 13, 2020 Simplified Chinese launched

Since my localization into Japanese went quite well, I decided to move on to the largest market on the App Store and localized Moodistory for China mainland. Localization was done (of course) for the app, website, and App Store description - including all assets like screenshots & videos.

December 9, 2019 Localization

After talking to fellow devs I decided to start localizing my app. Since my app is iOS-exclusive I was looking for a region where iPhones have a high market share and where downloads of my app were close to 0. Turns out Japan was the perfect territory. On Dec, 9 I finally released the Japanese version of my app!

January 11, 2019 App of the day in Apple's UK App Store

That's when I learned that filling out Apple's promo form is really, really important! Here's what Apple had to say about my app https://apps.apple.com/gb/story/id1445680739 . Sales went up to about 350 units for that day which was the highest to date.

August 1, 2018 Launch

Moodistory launches, supported by a marketing campaign for online ads, PR features and the website https://moodistory.com including a blog.
In the first week after the launch, Apple decides to feature Moodistory in the German App Store, resulting in a nice boost of sales.
