November 3, 2020 Finally reached 50 waitlist signups

This milestone might not be huge but it's a big step for us already. 馃 Our next aim is to reach 100 users while we are working on testing and improving on Natasha.

For those who don't know what Natasha does, let me give a quick introduction. Natasha is our AI Social Media Manager that extends your brand reach by simply observing your social media activity behavior and learning how to mimic your behavior to ensure brand continuity.

Natasha runs on a scheduled basis and she can do the following:

  1. Find relevant contents automatically based on contents you interact with
  2. Engage with the audience just like you would
  3. Respond to posts when appropriate just like you. We are also planning on having her interact with you through email when she plans on responding to posts

What I did

I have already listed down some of the things I did last 2 weeks ago. (It's documented here)

So what did I do differently this time?

  1. I tried to actively participate in different communities and chat groups (slack and discord). I tried to contribute by providing detailed feedback to those who ask for it. What I learned from doing this is that people will reciprocate by helping me out in return. 馃
  2. I posted about Natasha on different subreddits on Reddit to ask for feedback. I was able to instantly gain 10 + interested in it just from one post. I wasn't really expecting this since most of my previous posts didn't gain much traction. I recently changed my messaging/pitch which made people more interested in it (this is my assumption). 馃

Btw, these are some subreddits that can be helpful for getting feedbacks (assuming your target market is in that subreddit):

  1. r/startups
  • There are monthly and weekly threads where you can promote your startup. For the month of November, this is the thread
  1. r/smallbusiness
  • There are weekly threads where you can self-promote your startup
  1. r/growmybusiness
  • You can ask people for feedback about your product idea

What I will do next

I recently saw this post from @mattcrail at IndieHacker and I might look into it sometime this month. 馃

October 22, 2020 Reached 10+ signups to our waitlist

Just a quick background, we are still in the process of building our MVP, so we created a landing page for interested users to sign up for our waitlist

Good news

After a week of spreading the news about Natasha, I finally got to the point where I was able to gain tractions from multiple people in just one post on Facebook. Yipee 馃コ This is already great progress for me.

What I did

I recently joined a Facebook group where you can pitch your startup. For those that are interested, this is the link to the group. To be honest, I was hesitant to post my pitch there, but I realized I got nothing to lose by posting there. I can even get useful feedback on our product idea.

Side Note:

I also listed down some of the different growth strategies I did to promote Natasha in this comment.

What I learned

  1. Talking to people is really important. This is one of the ways to know if people are experiencing the problem you are actually trying to solve. You can learn a lot from other people and they may even unlock other areas you haven't thought about. 馃
  2. In relation to the above item, you need to know who you want to target (target audience/customer) - also known as "knowing your audience". There is a saying which goes, "If you target everyone, you are targeting no one." -> 100% accurate 馃幆
  3. There will always be people who are skeptical about your idea. Don't feel discouraged about it and continue with the execution to prove them wrong. Of course, this is easier said than done and may require multiple tries 馃槄

Side Note:

As of 2020-10-23, we were able to reach 20 + signups!
As of 2020-10-28, we were able to reach 30 + signups!

September 2020 Natasha's product idea birth

The team experienced some frustration while trying to do social media marketing for another product. It came to a point where we asked ourselves if it's possible to clone ourselves to have our other half work on social media marketing. This is where the idea of Natasha started.

Natasha is an AI social media manager that extends your brand's reach. She simply observes your social media activity and learns how to mimic that behavior to ensure brand continuity.
