We started building Nerdy Joy on May 15th, 2020. Since I was alone when we first started, it took a while for me to create a website. After a few weeks, I had built an extremely amateur website with a horrible interface.

After finding another Co-founder and establishing a technical team, we rebuilt the website and redesigned the whole interface. We also decided to add new features like the community feature, audio content, and reflection forms to optimize the learning experience of our users.

Hi, I am Berk Lee. The Co-founder of Nerdy Joy.

A year ago I felt really lost. I was addicted to playing video games and eating unhealthy food instead of doing something productive with my life.

Fourtnetly, it was the hardship I experienced that led me to books. When I first discovered books, I had issues committing to reading the book. It was too long and difficult to read. While I was aware that the lessons in the book were useful, I found the book itself to be boring.

However, I persevered and decided to develop the habit of reading. After some time, I saw my life change. I was able to find happiness and a purpose in life. I was amazed by how books were able to change my life.

So, I decided to create a business that would create content that explained lessons from books. Once I developed the exact idea, I went to my Co-founder, Daesung Lee, to share the idea with him. Fortunately, he loved the idea!

However, there was one slight problem. There were companies that already did this. Which meant my idea was not as new as I thought. So, I tried a different method.

We decided to teach lessons through story-telling. With our stories, we would teach lessons through fictional stories, and with articles, we would teach them through real stories.

Among many other differentiators, our quality standards are by far one of the most important. We make sure you 1) understand the lesson, 2) understand why it's important, 3) understand how to implement it, 4) understand its benefits.
