Cross Device Sharing / Productivity / Notification App
An app we loved was removed from the App Store, we decided to build a modern version of it, its purpose is to easily share anything across all of your devices, securely, cross platform, be it Android, iOS, Windows.
This past week has been crazy for the growth of our user base, with 100s of new users coming in as we are now generally available hitting 1000 MAU is a good feeling. We had been getting similar numbers signing up for the beta, and we now see that same trend reflected in the number of new accounts created. Continued user growth and conversion is next on the todo list 😅
So we have been running our campaign for 50% discount for all our beta users, as a thank you for helping to get us off the ground. This was great and we saw our MAU grow to 900, good numbers from the App Store and Play Store, our overall accounts grew above 1350 and we landed 45 paying customers. So we are all pretty pleased with how our first week live has gone!
Just under a week into our general release, we have closed the week off with (at the time of writing) 33 customers, this means we have just under 500 euros in ARR, our first paying customers are getting a heavy 50% discount as a gift to our beta users. So we are at 40 euros MRR and this is a great start!
We moved out of beta after around 6 months and with the general release we also opened up our subscription model. This was a massive milestone for us and now we can continue to grow our user base beyond our beat users, we have already seen a large growth in our free account which is a great sign of things to come.
You can “Now Push” to Firefox from iOS, Android, or Google Chrome/Microsoft Edge. It’s super simple, super-fast, and is just the latest step in building out our core applications!
This is the next step is Now Push making it easy to share things between your mobile devices and your browser.
This was a major milestone as it took us to the "4 apps" we had planned to ship for a first full release, we will just spend a few more weeks in beta to iron out the final bugs and get together our plan for our subscription model.
We had set back after set back when trying to deliver our Chrome extension and after a few rejections for vague reasons, resubmitting and resubmitting, having a big bug go into our first approved version and then having to resubmit a bug fix which was then rejected, one more attempt we finally got a approved and we then had a truly cross device application on our hands and could offer a product we where happy with but really is only the start of this journey.
So after several weeks of development, struggling to come to terms with the new reality around COVID-19, working full time, still caring for our families, lots of late nights, learning new skills and generally being frustrated with Google and how they go about reviewing Chrome Extensions, we shipped the beta for our mobile apps, build using Flutter and the start of something really exciting (browser extension still not quite ready)
A mix.true of a good idea, a targeted user base, a real world problem to solve (and a easy solution to explain), posting in the right places online, offering a nice incentive to early sign ups and being a little bold we managed to hit 800 sign ups after just a few days, leading to a feeling of excitement and worry amount us all.
We published our landing page after some research and talking with people on Twitter and various places around Reddit. This was the first step, we had an outline of the idea, a set of people to focus on and most of all we had a need to solve for the founding team.
