We've been getting a steady flow of signup for a few months now. A few of these companies became paid users, some are still on a free-tier, but actively using the system, but most of them have just dropped off.
We thought that a clunky and unclear on-boarding procedure is partially to blame, so we've designed a new one.
Previous version of our on-boarding was happening 100% in the web browser, and involved quite a heavy and buggy experience, our users had to go through. After talking to our customers we noticed, that most of them signed up for OneBar because of the Slack integration, and were in general less happy if things had to happen in the web app instead of Slack.
We spent some time and designed a completely new version of our on-boarding, which now happens entirely in Slack. It is still quite an involved process, which walks a user through several key features, but we tried to make it more fun an human friendly.
Below is the recording of me, going through the full OneBar on-boarding. Obviously, I've gone through it a 100 times while debugging and it's now in my muscle memory. I would appreciate if someone could take a fresh look at it and provide me some feedback.
