100 users joined Owwly

Mission unblocked 🔓 After 2 months from last big release (sign in option included) - Owwly has 100 logged in users on the board. Pretty big step forward for us. ⛳️

We noticed that users mostly log in and add their own products to the website. I think we need to work on some kind of onboarding to increase the amount of posts added during first visit. I am also not sure if people know that can add as many posts as they want to. Usually one post per one product. This is a thing which we would like to focus on in the next weeks.

Next step - 200 users and more posts about product’s progress!

Congrats Piotr! It's great to see Owwly's progress. What are some of the lessons you've learned over the last year that you would recommend to others starting now?

Hi @ChrisGG, thank you for kind words :) Regarding your question - please let me use my old post where I described my takeaways from the last release

      1. Holidays it’s a not good time to plan an update 💀
      2. Procrastination is inevitable. Prepare green tea and stay calm.
      3. You know nothing about marketing… That’s right. Even the best products will be nothing without a tone of time spent on marketing. Below you can find websites which I used last months:
        a. IndieHackers
        b. ProductHunt (Makers section)
        c. Reddit
      • r/designcritiques
      • r/imadethis
      • r/sideproject
      • r/startups
        d. Spectrum
        e. Makerlog
      1. It’s possible to maintain a website and work on new things with only two people on the board (Design+Marketing+Backend+Frontend). And we’re still alive!
      2. You thinking about your product even if you slip 😴
      3. Bad day -> good day -> bad day -> good day …
      4. Developers like to complain to designers when they see design first time 😜. Be polite and supportive.
      5. Determine design language/style guidelines at the beginning.
      6. Partners who understand your passion and give you freedom are a treasure. Thank you for our girls 😘
      7. Don’t try to explain to your mom what are you doing 💁

Thanks so much! This is really useful!

Hi @piotrbartoszek, what is Spectrum? I tried to look it up in google, and cannot find any tool that makes sense to use for a maker. 😅

I love the design, it's clean and simple and works smoothly when scrolling and clicking a bunch or random stuff! Well done 🎉.

Here's my initial thoughts as a first time user - I'm just not so sure exactly what I should do on the site. Yeah I click around and see links to other pages / sites / apps ... but what is the real value proposition you are providing on the site? I'm not really sure what I'm getting if I sign up.

Congrats on this milestone Piotr. Really love the UI of the site.

Thank you so much @belfastjim Clean and simple UI was our main goal during development phase ;)
