December 15, 2020 Weekly Update #12

Bug fixing week!

We're polishing the app up to launch on iOS and Android and it's looking like January is the time when we will be launching on both platforms.

We also published two skyscraper articles last week (following the SEO strategy coined by Brian Dean), and we are proud to show them to you today:

How To Become A Leading Podcaster in Your Niche (Ultimate 2020 Guide

Top 50 Podcasting Tools List
(click the links to open the articles)

Update time:

⚙️ We're continuing to focus on bug fixes and improvements of the iOS and Android apps to prepare them for releasing.

⚙️ We've had some changes to design for leaving community and deleting members from community features, and we are implementing them this week.

🚀We now have 106 registered users (+7 from last week).

🚀We have had 17 calls with podcasters so far (after the MVP launch). We are continuing to send onboarding emails to all new registered podcasters.

🚀We are continuing to write multiple content pieces which will ultimately feed into achieving MRR prior to shipping the product live.

🚀We've had 434 unique visits on our website in the last 30 days. Due to a technical error, 4 days haven't been tracked properly during these 30 days, so the number is actually bigger (more than 500 unique visits).

🚀We have published 15 articles to the Paudium blog.

🚀We have published two skyscrapers mentioned above!

See you next week!

Have an absolutely amazing day,

December 9, 2020 Weekly Update #11

Lots and lots of moving parts in the Paudium HQ, and we're proud of them all equally.

This week, we're making great strides on the content writing and blog front, and have published a great piece we're especially proud of.

We are humbled by the position in which we are able to ask all of our valued podcasters for their advice, opinions, or just general chit-chat - and last week - we decided to conduct an experiment!

We've asked all of them the same question: What would you recommend to a podcaster that is just starting out? What would you like to say to your younger self that was just getting into podcasting?

And viola! Here are the results:

20 Podcasting Lessons Experienced Podcasters Wish they Knew at the Start
(click the link to open the article)

As is tradition by now, here's the update:

⚙️ We are continuing to work on Podcast Sharing Deeplinks and creating previews for them.

⚙️ We're focusing on bug fixes and improvements of the iOS and Android apps to prepare them for releasing.

⚙️ We're starting the creation of the Admin panel for internal use from where Paudium team members can get info about podcasts/podcasters, delete reported posts, etc.

⚙️ We're finalising the conversion from Android to iOS and adding designs for leaving community and deleting members from community features.

🚀We now have 99 registered users (+8 from last week).

🚀We have had 17 calls with podcasters so far (after the MVP launch). We are continuing to send onboarding emails to all new registered podcasters.

🚀We are continuing to write multiple content pieces which will ultimately feed into achieving MRR prior to shipping the product live.

🚀We've had 391 unique visits on our website in the last 30 days, but this number would have been a lot higher if it weren't for a technical tracking mistake that happen while migrating to Wordpress. We are dealing with it at this moment.

🚀We have published 14 articles to the Paudium blog.

🚀We have published one skyscraper (that is going to get further upgraded very soon), and the second one we are expecting to publish this week as well. More on that in next week's update.

See you next week!

Have an absolutely amazing day,

December 1, 2020 Weekly Update #10

This week is The week in Paudium history that will be otherwise known as:

The week we have (finally) been accepted to the Apple App Store

We're shifting gears and focusing on launching there (submitting the app to iOS Testfight) and meanwhile also finishing the migration to Wordpress.

ALSO

We are looking for a new Growth person that will be able to help us scale growth - know anyone? Let us know :)

The update:

⚙️ We will submit the app to iOS Testflight and be one more step closer to having the iOS version of the app.

⚙️ We will start working on deeplinks so in near future we can have podcast sharing feature.

⚙️ We’ll add videogames category (which we want to focus on specifically right now) & continue to make updates for the community feature.

⚙️ On Friday this week, we are officially switching to Wordpress, and are doing the necessary steps so everything goes smoothly.

🚀We now have 91 registered users (+11 from last week).

🚀We have had 17 calls with podcasters so far (after the MVP launch). We are continuing to send onboarding emails to all new registered podcasters.

🚀We are continuing to write multiple content pieces which will ultimately feed into achieving MRR prior to shipping the product live.

🚀We've had 442 unique visits on our website in the last 30 days.

🚀We have prepared 3 articles to publish, and once we're fully live on Wordpress we will be able to publish them.

🚀We have created the Skyscraper topics (2 of them), and are continuing to write them.

See you next week!

Have an absolutely amazing day,

November 25, 2020 Weekly Update #9

Big news this week for the marketing team - we successfully hired and are onboarding a new content manager that will help get our content to the next level on the blog.

Also, we are migrating the blog from Netlify to Wordpress, to optimise our dev team's focus on only the app, and not needing to spend extra time on Netlify optimisations.

Additionally - we have increased our efforts in finding a new copywriter who will help with both website copy and copy inside the app.

All-in-all: Busy, busy, busy couple of weeks! Even though things are intense now, we are also quite aware that they are probably still the calmest weeks we'll experience - it only gets better ;)

In the usual, 100% transparent fashion, here's the update:

⚙️ We are continuing to work on the community features inside the app.

⚙️ We are brainstorming and researching the potential new gamification system for the community and will update once we get to clear conclusions and direction

⚙️ We have decided to migrate the website from Netlify to Wordpress, to reduce the development time needed to sustain it. This week we are finalising this process

🚀We had an administrative error and currently we have 80 registered users (corrected amount from the previous 86). We are looking into this issue and trying to get to the bottom of it. Our latest guess is that the filtering system in Notion-fueled CRM somehow (by our mistake) wrongly added extra entries last week, falsely increasing the number of registrations.

🚀We have had 16 calls with podcasters so far (after the MVP launch). We have successfully started to send onboarding emails through ConvertKit in order to schedule more calls!

🚀We are continuing to write multiple content pieces which will ultimately feed into achieving MRR prior to shipping the product live.

🚀We've had 472 (+4 from last week) unique visits on our website in the last 30 days

🚀We have published 1 more article on our Blog (10 total).

🚀We have created the Skyscraper topics (2 of them), and are continuing to write them.

See you next week!

Have an absolutely amazing day,

November 17, 2020 Weekly Update #8

This week, with the help of our newly onboarded developer, we are focusing on upgrading the design of our website and blog.

Soon, the whole Paudium experience is going to be brought up to a whole new different level!

Until then, here are the usual updates:

⚙️ We are still focusing on getting the Paudium native app up and running - this week things are looking good and we should be able to wrap it up!

⚙️ We are continuing to work on the community features inside the app.

⚙️ We are working on adding improvements to the blog such as pagination, table of contents, social sharing sidebar etc.

🚀We now have 86 registered users (+14 from last week). This week we will start to send out a new Listen Notes campaign!

🚀We have had 15 calls with podcasters so far (after the MVP launch). After some technical roadblocks, this week we should start sending out emails to new registrations through ConvertKit.

🚀We are continuing to write multiple content pieces which will ultimately feed into achieving MRR prior to shipping the product live.

🚀We've had 468 (+40 from last week) unique visits on our website in the last 30 days.

🚀We have published 2 more articles on our Blog (9 total).

🚀We have created the Skyscraper topics (2 of them), and are continuing to write them.

See you next week!

November 10, 2020 Weekly Update #7

We have officially started doing backend development work on our newly designed community features this week, and things are heating up in the dev department.

Rumor has it that we have a new full-stack developer joining us soon to increase the speed and output!

Soon we should be able to ship the iOS app and double-down on the community part of our app.

As always, here are the weekly updates:

⚙️ We are still focusing on getting the Paudium native app up and running - this week we worked on adding the shopping cart and purchasing sections inside the profile.

⚙️ We have started dev work on the community features inside the app.

⚙️ We have added Blog to the menu of our website, making the launch of our blog official.

🚀We now have 72 registered users (+11 from last week). We will be starting a great new tactic to get emails from thousands of podcasters from Listen Notes soon to grow this number faster!

🚀We have had 15 calls (+1 from last week) with podcasters so far (after the MVP launch). This week we should be able to implement onboarding emails through ConvertKit for new registrations which should get us more calls.

🚀We are continuing to write multiple content pieces which will ultimately feed into achieving MRR prior to shipping the product live.

🚀We've had 428 (+90 from last week) unique visits on our website in the last 30 days (partial data due to the fact we started tracking in the middle of October).

🚀We have published 2 more articles on our Blog (7 total).

🚀We have created the Skyscraper topics (2 of them),  and are continuing to write them.

See you next week!

November 3, 2020 Weekly Update #6

This weeks was a week of growth! We've seen a positive increase in the amount of new registrations coming in, due to implementations of new tactics (and we haven't even tested them all yet!).

Now, on the Blog side - we set out to build Two (not one!) Skyscraper pages:

Page no. 1: 'How to Become a Leading Podcaster in Your Niche (Ultimate 2020 Guide)'

Page no. 2: 'Podcasting Tools: The Complete List (137+ tools and more)'*

*title not yet solidified

We are all excited to see the result compound for these over time :)

Without further ado, here are the updates:

⚙️ We have 99% finalised the design of the community features inside the app and started dev work on it.

⚙️ We are still focusing on getting the Paudium native app up and running - this week we worked on adding the checkout and payment screens.

⚙️ We have updated the verification flow for singing up new podcasters - now they will not need to Request for registrations, but will be able to register without additional friction!

🚀 We now have 61 registered users (+18 from last week) thanks to implementing some new approaches to social selling on Twitter. We will be testing some new ideas as well!

🚀 We have had 14 calls (+1 from last week) with podcasters so far (after the MVP launch). We will be implementing onboarding emails for new registrations which should get us more calls.

🚀 We have prepared onboarding emails to start educating existing users how to sell products on Paudium and will be implementing them this week to increase our chances of getting early MRR.

🚀 We have created a plan how we can bump our MRR up with our content strategy using affiliate deals. We are starting to write multiple content pieces which will ultimately feed into this strategy.

🚀 We've had 338 (+137 from last week) unique visits on our website in the last 30 days (partial data due to the fact we started tracking in the middle of October).

🚀 We have published 3 more articles on our Blog (5 total).

🚀 We have created the Skyscraper topics (2 of them), and have started to write them.

A big thank you to our team, our podcasters, listeners and IndieHackers that have been supporting and following us!

October 26, 2020 Weekly Update #5

This week we've published Paudium Blog! 🥳

This is a big milestone for us since we already have 10 articles ready for publishing and great plans to position Paudium as a go-to place to get the best updates, learnings and tactics to start, build and grow a podcast (and lots more!).

We're still working out a few kinks, but everything should be polished up and the blog will shine bright in all its glory very soon!

We've also decided to change the way we post updates here on IH moving forward (see below), that way the stats will be more aligned with our goals as a company and they should also provide a better structure of presenting milestones moving forward.

Now that we've gotten that out of the way, here are the actual stats for the past week:

⚙️ We have started to work on community features of the app.

⚙️ We are still focusing on getting the Paudium native app up and running - this week we worked on adding the search and shop tabs as well as single product details.

⚙️ As mentioned above, we published the blog!

🚀 We now have 43 registered users. We have started processes to explore new channels to start growing this number faster.

🚀 We have had 13 calls with podcasters so far (after the MVP launch). We've seen some stagnation in the amount of calls that we are scheduling and are looking to increase this number.

🚀 We have started to prepare onboarding emails to start educating existing users how to sell products on Paudium, even though we are currently in beta, we think we can start seeing MRR if we properly educate & motivate them.

🚀 We've had 201 unique visits on our website in the last 30 days (partial data due to the fact we started tracking in the middle of October).

🚀 We have published 2 articles on our Blog, and have 8 more ready to go.

🚀 We have started to ideate and research the best skyscraper page topic. Read more about skyscraper technique here

A big thank you to our team, our podcasters, listeners and IndieHackers that have been supporting and following us!

See you next week!

October 20, 2020 Weekly Update!

We've decided on the exact features the new community aspect of Paudium is going to bring to the podcasting world and have started to develop them!

Podcasters will now be able to have private, exclusive communities built around their podcast once they claim it on Paudium.

The community feature will be built very similarly to Facebook groups where podcast listeners and podcast hosts will be able to communicate via posts, comments and likes.

Listeners will need to send a request to be able to join the podcast community and they will be able to publish posts to the community, browse the feed, view conversation threads and filter the feed by tags and episodes.

With that in mind, here are this weeks updates:

Growth stats:
🚀We have 102 podcasters agreed to beta-test Paudium and are in constant contact with them.

🚀We now have 2746 followers on Twitter.

🚀We have altogether had 42 calls with different podcasters.

Product & business updates:

❇️ We are now preparing the environment so we can build the aforementioned community features.

❇️ We are still focusing on getting the Paudium app: this week we worked on: Onboarding Screens / New Design 2.0 for Player / Explore feature / Playlist feature / Episode feature

❇️ We finalised the blog and this week we will be publishing our prepared blog post articles.

❇️We have worked on generating actionable reports about users that have already registered on our platform.

A big thank you to our team, our podcasters, listeners and IndieHackers that have been supporting and following us!

See you next week!

October 13, 2020 New Chapter: Community (+ Weekly Update!)

It has now been a couple of weeks of non-stop calls with podcasters (which we enjoy, by the way!) and lots and lots of introspection, ideation and brainstorming.

Our vision about Paudium is crystalising even more so with every week we spend building it.

Our latest breakthrough was in fact our latest decision we made after hearing about it on almost every call:

We want to help podcast hosts build a community around their podcast.

Podcasters want to be able to have a place where they are able to interact with their community, share latest updates, provide insights into behind-the-scenes, share their latest products, services and everything in between.

Right now, the biggest problem is that the community they have is needing to migrate to a number of different platforms to get the connection they need with the podcasters: Instagram, Twitter, Patreon, Facebook, YouTube, their own website/shop, you name it.

We want Paudium to be an All-in-One platform built for the purpose of amplifying the connection between podcast hosts and their listeners.

We think podcasting in general should be treated more like social media than it is right now, and we have decided to make this our mission.

With that being said - this week we are focused on crystallising the exact features we are going to develop to facilitate this idea.

---------

Growth stats:
🚀We have 97 podcasters agreed to beta-test Paudium and are in constant contact with them.

🚀We now have 2674 followers on Twitter.

🚀We have altogether had 38 calls with different podcasters.

Product & business updates:

❇️ We are still focusing on getting the Paudium app to be native so we can give a better experience to our users and be able to submit the app to the iOS App Store.

❇️ This week we will be finalizing our blog and we will start publishing blog updates very soon.

❇️ We are still working on a completely new design for the player & website.

❇️We have implemented Cloudflare caching to make the website load faster.

❇️We have worked on generating actionable reports about users that have already registered on our platform.

A big thank you to our team, our podcasters, listeners and IndieHackers that have been supporting and following us!

See you next week!

Have an absolutely amazing day,
