Todo list meets Calendar and Contacts
To stay on top of your responsibilities
Managed to get ranked #1 for a bunch of keywords that we wanted to target, such as "Customer list" and others similar.
Common sense ASO techniques were used, such as keywords in the descriptions, keywords in the screenshots (as Google is using OCR on screenshots), a website that contains pertinent keywords and useful content.
At first we tried to offer a lot of features, but got bogged down in development and spent too much time on it. After realising it was easier to just stick with a single core unique problem being solved, the values were clearer, and marketing strategy became easier to implement. A small pivot had to be made from a general business organizer to a customer list. Even though it can still do both. The focus has been narrowed.
Took intelligence from a few sources and created a document of objections and problems that users had. Both bugs and also experiences. This information showed problems with understanding how to use the app, UI, concerns with the privacy of both users contact and task information data.
By making little improvements frequently to both the app and web presence, and addressing real world user problems, it became easier to show up in search results and attract users to download the app. Still much more improvement is needed on both of those fronts to see better results.
