TO close the gap between makers and marketing. TO create a marketing home base for all ideas to evolve. TO create a place to dive deeper on ideas. TO be a sandbox to play around with new concepts. TO grow together.

April 22, 2020 Sent First Maker Marketing Newsletter

This has been something I always wanted to try with our community and two my hat in the mix.

I needed to figure out a cool way to give exposure to more indie products and their stories.

I essentially just sent out a few emails and twitter dM's to a few people ive met to get a quick story not heir growth journey so far.

Ia also just reach dots to people in the indi community building things to see of they wanted to be featured int the newsletter.

Nothing too technical here just being bold and reaching out and giving away more than you get mentality.

Come check be friends and let me know how i can help you out.

January 21, 2020 Passed 400 members. Sweet.

Cold outreach in a human manner and twitter engagement was the most helpful here. Everyone in the indie-hacker community has been super helpful as well in getting there.

Although I had to put the community on the back burner as I broke ground actually building my product . the community had stayed active and engaged. I felt really guilty lol. Still learning on how to manage a community and make get more people learning and less lurking.

If you want to join a community for diving deeper on MAker Marketing hit me up over here on the slack group:

September 26, 2019 Hit 250 Members: Heck yes Makers and Marketers.

Although the growth isn't organic yet I have learned that I will need to work on growth no matter where I am in the process of building. The conversation is organic and amazing to be apart of. I hope to scrape my way 1000 members and I don't mind the grind at all. Its fun to grow and fun to chat with these members as we all progress and grow our own businesses and help each other out of our own pits.

September 4, 2019 Crossed 200 Community Members.

I have focused on primarily getting my IH community interested as well as sending out cold twitter messages.

Whoever follows me I would send an invite via Twitter or email. This has proved to be a great way to get the traction started. I do now have to get more "marketing" individuals over there as the conversations are getting deeper. Get manual!

Next steps:

  1. will be an email campaign to my marketing network form LinkedIn.

  2. build the PigeonHack concept. Community + Tools.

LEt me know if you want an invite or you can visit my profile here.

August 23, 2019 Hit 150 Members

Although this isn't the product I want to make(and its just a slack group) its a great start to validate the full concept which I will soon share with IH and PigeonHack.
I have brute-forced my way to this moment which in my mind is the best way to get your first users. Scrape and crawl for traction and poke and prod different communities to see who's responsive. This should be the fun part of your journey. Let me know if you need to get unstuck or need some help.

Currently at 158 members going strong.

Methods used so far:
-getting in contact with Indiehackers who follow me. Thanks to all those who have hopped on thus far.

-Cold Twitter Messaging

-Cold LinkedIn Messaging.

-Reddit once in a while.

Planning on:

-Hitting the YC SUS forum and Hacker News.

Let me know if you want to see the script, content for these or need any help with yours?

Please feel free to join us!

I really need more Marketing (All aspects) help and Idea Generators but all are welcome no matter where you're at in your product journey.
