Product Hunt Launch after a year of work!

Finally!

After 1000+ hours of work.

https://www.producthunt.com/posts/pingr-2

The day has come. I've been building Pingr for the whole year, literally spent more than 1000 hours.

I had to cope with depression, with joy, with failure and success.

Even though it's only the first step in this long journey of being Indie Hacker, it's still very very important for me.

Now, the pulse is going high, the caffeine is going in, and hopefully the launch will go to be successful.

Thank you, Indie Hackers, you're the best community I've ever met! :)

What?! 1000 hours? Your service just sends ping, what could take so long? :D

Just kidding. Good luck with the launch!

    1. 6

I was just coding on Assembler...:D

  2. 3

At the moment I write this, it's #1 for the Day!!
    Congrats on the launch!

      I'm going to faint

  3. 2

congrats @Akcium, that's a lot of work and so glad to see it make #1! I've been working on something for 1.5 yrs (i'm just slower than you haha) - we're launching Friday. Would you be willing to dm and share any tips??

I'm currently on UptimeRobot, what would be some feature/reason to make me migrate?

    1. 1

Well, are you on their free plan?

It depends on what you need. If you're on free plan and you have all you need there, then you shouldn't migrate.

But some advanced features like setting http headers, ssl monitoring, etc are paid in uptimerobot.

My idea was to include all features in all plans, and just make everything better than uptimerobot have. Like better status pages, more information of about uptime/response time etc.

But obviously I cannot do this at once, so I'll gradually ship updates.

Anyway, I would REALLY appreciate, if you tell me if there is something you miss in uptimerobot or don't like about it.

      1. 2

Yes I'm on the free plan and I don't feel like missing something but TBH I may also don't know what I'm missing

        1. 1

Oh, how about you just try to use my service a bit, I'll prolong your subscription as long as you need. So I'm not selling it to you, rather want to get some beta-testers :)

Anyway maybe you'd want just to talk, I'm always open on Twitter/Email, https://twitter.com/vponamariov :)

    the price is very bold

    1. 2

      On the one hand yes
On the other hand it depends. Probably for now it's pricy but the advantage is that I include all features in all plans. All next features will be included too. So eventually it'll grow up to not only monitoring but also performance analytics.

If I don't have to pay for multiple locations, like monitoring from one without any speed metrics, then I would reduce the price like 5 times.

      That's the tradeoff:

      • Big companies provide less price but reluctant to do some updates, changes, since they already get the revenue
      • Small companies have higher prices while trying to be nice for everyone and provide new functionality, quickly fix bugs etc

Congrats Victor! You're number 1! Upvoted!

After two and a half years of launching. How valuable did you think the launch on PH was for your company?

  8. 1

I'm late, but still impressed - congrats!

  9. 1

A bit late to the game, but congrats @Akcium!! Looks like you made it to the #1 spot too. 👏🏽

We're also planning for our PH launch and I'd love to hear how you primed yours!! Let me know if you're up for a chat. 🙂

    1. 1

Haha, indeed a bit late :) I've already launched a second time, another product.

Anyway, I'm available on Twitter https://twitter.com/vponamariov
      or @Akcium Telegram

Oooh, sounds interesting! Added you over on Twitter, but might be easier to find a common time here (if you're up for it!): https://calendly.com/cheska-teresa/chat-with-cheska

Very high pricing! No freemium pricing. Tools like Freshping by Freshworks https://www.freshworks.com/website-monitoring/ offer free website monitoring for free for life! Beat that!

    1. 1

$36 for SSL monitoring from freshpingr
$11 for custom http headers or
"Alert only when my site is down for X minutes" or
      Set timeout.

Sooner or later I'll have all their features included in all plans.

But for basic monitoring yes, they are cool, I agree.

  11. 1

I will use this once done with my project

    1. 1

Thank you, if you need some features, just drop me a line to [email protected]

  12. 1

This is great and very simple to use! Best of luck with launch and MRR growth!!

      Love your nickname :)

  17. 1

Congrats on the launch @Akcium, you got my vote on PH! Have you built that lifetime deal thingy yourself? Feels like something I might wanna use for our launch too.

Keep up the great work 👏

    1. 1

      Thank you!

      I made it myself :)

      Thank you ! :)

      1. Laravel/VueJS/MySQL/Redis
      2. I was actively talking here on IH and on Twitter, getting to know everyone and when I launched I already got some supporters. Apart from that I read a lot of articles about PH launch. Designer made me nice slides :)
