Setup my landing page

I've been a long time startup lurker, and recent Indie Hacker lurker.

After listening to the Pieter Levels episode where he compared starting up to swimming ("most people to just stand on the edge of the pool talking about good swimming strategies") I thought, "enough is enough, I gotta build something".

I'd been compiling a list of constraints for what I might work on e.g.

  • B2B SAAS,
  • Feasible for me to release MVP on my own,
  • Ideally uses my machine learning skills,
  • etc.

which helped me narrow down a list of vague and well formed ideas.

I settled on the concept for Plannit (if you're interesting you can read more about it here

I'm a total noob at frontend + design but I wanted to up skill at bit and didn't want to start piling up Squarespace bills so I built it with

  • Netlify for hosting + continuous delivery
  • Site content with Gatsby.js + Netlify CMS adapted from their starter example
  • Dodgy graphics in Canva
  • Double opt-in email signup with Netlify forms + Email Octopus + Zapier
