This is an example of the power of content marketing and how even one single blog post can change the traction of a startup. All organic and without using any paid advertising.

Hereโ€™s a deeper look into the marketing actions we took to achieve the above results:

How one blog post changed the traction for my startup

This is amazing. There's no denying of the fact that investing in producing quality content pays back handsomely.

Congrats! Thanks for sharing your findings

      you're welcome!

    Congrats, Marko!

You can argue that the only way from here in terms of traffic is down. We hit the ball out of the park on our first blog post and this is an incredible result that is difficult to achieve very often.

Well put. It sounds like you have the right mindset to handle the ups and downs though!

      Thanks Justin!

You know the trade buddy. Amazing product. Signed up for the newsletters. Following your journey. Have some suggestions in mind. Will mail you soon.
    All the very best.

      Sounds good!

  5. 2

Very nice! I'm curious, did you write the post yourself?

    1. 1

      Yes, I wrote the post.

      1. 1

Just thinking back to this, do you feel that you could have done better offering a share option/widget to the post?

        1. 1

Good question. It's difficult to know really. The usage on those share buttons is very low these days (especially for a tech audience) but it could have added few more shares perhaps. Adding Facebook logos/buttons etc is perhaps not worth it for a privacy friendly product :)

  6. 2

    So Cool!
    Thanks for sharing!

    Congratulations on the traffic

I havenโ€™t been using GA for years now ... at the moment Iโ€™m using Matomo (formerly known as Piwik)

  8. 2

    Nice!
Did you just add the post on your website and the signups came in or did you post the blogpost somewhere? (and where ๐Ÿ˜Š)

    1. 1

Thanks! The post was posted on our website only but we did share the link in several communities including Indie Hackers.

Great job Marko (and Uku)! The post was framed perfectly for the HN audience and Iโ€™m sure that wasnโ€™t a coincidence, right? ๐Ÿ™‚

Sounds really cool man, congrats. What is your biggest source of traffic?

This project is so awesome!!! It is what I desperately want for a long time.

Can I ask where can I display the site visiting data at my site like the dashboard page.

    1. 1

Thanks! It's up to you really. By default your stats are private and only available to you. You can open them up and share them with others privately or you can put the link on for instance your site footer or your about page to showcase your traffic numbers to anyone. Depends really on what you want to use it for.

      1. 1

yes. So is there any document that guides me how to share the stats information?

        1. 1

          Sure.

In your Plausible Analytics account, clicks on the "Settings" button next to the domain name of the site you'd like to make the stats public for.

On the Settings page, scroll down to the "Visibility" section and click on the "Make stats public" button.

After clicking that button, your stats will be public and you'll get your unique URL that you can share to whomever you'd like to see your stats.

Thanks for replying. I like your product so much and would like to subscribe to a basic plan (:

I hope more features will be added.

            1. 1

I'm happy to hear that! There's a public roadmap at https://plausible.io/roadmap and we are working on new features.

    Congrats! Thanks for sharing.
