Cryptocurrency which supports play-based programs
$PLAY Coin exists to Unite, Empower, Uplift and Reward through its supported programs. I wanted a single economy which supports play-based activities and businesses!
Somewhere within the last couple of weeks we hit the #1 spot on Rally. Rally is the world's largest social token network, so that by default makes us the world's most valuable social token by market cap. Pretty wild, and surreal at the same time. I've been using the token to build my startup, and finally established a company to back it.
The irony is that we don't have the innate followings of most of the other Creators on the platform, which shows the incredible level of opportunity in the space for Creators!
We've been bringing people on board steadily (all contractors) to help fill in gaps as we grow. Most recently we hired a 3D modeller/artist, a program director for LifePlay, a Unity developer, and a front end/react dev. It's true what they say.. as you grow one of the best things a founder can do is continue to talk to people to find the best people to join your team.
I've also brought people in who DIDN'T work out, who spun wheels, got paid, and didn't deliver. Great lessons to learn early!
We wrote up, proposed, put up for community vote, and were awarded a $530k grant to build revenue producing products for the Rally Creator Coin community :) I am so proud of my team!

I launched $PLAY Coin over on https://rally.io in late April, and it's quickly grown to be in the top 10 Creator Coins there. My core team has grown from just me to 6 others, and we have gone way past the $1MM market cap mark. We're currently earning about
We've launched 4 programs within $PLAY which are basically all like little startups, each with their own core team and shared resources. It's been an amazing amount of fun.
So after 7 weeks or so, finally having our first Town Hall meeting to do a public update and talk about what's happened and what's coming next.
Only a week or so after launch, we hit $100K MRR. That number fluctuates as the price of our coin fluctuates, but we've grown to over 200 supporters as well. Most of our revenue is coming from Rewards program on Rally, but some is directly from supporters as well.
After a couple weeks of intense bursting, I launched $PLAY Coin last Thursday over on the Rally Creator Coin network.
Rally Creator Coins are a really cool kind of crypto project where creators can apply for their own coin and use it in their economy. Some Creators are Twitch Streamers, DJs, Social Influencers, and some (like me) have organized a community comprised of lots of other creators under one mission. Each coin holds its own value independent of other coins, but also is tied to the ERC20 token: $RLY. This means they're exchangeable into fiat (ie USD, etc)
They're a nice entry into some crypto topics for people, like staking, rewards, crypto wallets, etc. And you can buy directly with USD too, which is pretty awesome.
I started $PLAY coin as a way to provide an economy for a Premium Game Creation Incubator, Pro Gaming Coaching Marketplace, and Lifetime Rewards for kids. All play-based activities. I'm working fulltime on the project and am extremely excited! We have a team of 7 now, and growing every day. We run the community for the most part on Discord!
As for the project I had been working on as a side project, I plan on releasing it in May finally, to other Creators on the Rally Network :)
The $PLAY Team worked their butts off to make logos, set up sites and socials, bang out our mission statements and work to define our initial projects and pipeline. We setup a Clubhouse with all the tasks, and ran through them all like a well oiled machine, until we got to 100% Done with the Epic.
We just got word that the Creator Coin would be launching this Thursday, 4/22 at 1PM EST over on the rally.io website! So we finished in the nick of time.
The $PLAY Coin Proposal was voted on by the community using the decentralized Snapshot proposal voting system, and was unanimously accepted with 100% YES Votes. This was an extremely positive sign and a strong indicator of support. I already had a team together from my Game Development community, so began to flesh out the details of a larger scale program.
I wrote up a proposal for $PLAY and pitched it to some of the Rally Team. One of them took up the torch and made it into a formal proposal for the Snapshot proposal system.
I learned that it's easier to get a proposal accepted by having a very well thought-out plan, taking the time to shorten it as much as possible (ie focus) and then writing it so it's easy to agree with. This involved knowing my audience!
I'd been re-learning about Cryptocurrency over the last couple of months as I felt I was getting left behind with what was going on in the crypto space, NFTs, etc. People were asking me about it and I had no answers. So I spent some time digging in and ended up learning about Creator Coins over on Rally.io. I wanted to integrate it into my Announcr project, and got involved with a new coin called $BOT coin. A few weeks later I realized that I needed to setup a coin for my Game Developer FB Group, and that idea expanded into $PLAY Coin.
