With the success of my podcast, Creative Elements, a lot of people have been asking me how I produce such a professional-sounding show as an indie podcaster.

December 19, 2020 50 student enrollments

My podcasting course Podcast Like The Pros just crossed 50 students!

The course has been primarily marketed through my email list and Twitter, and has gotten super positive reviews thus far. So I continue to tell the stories of students who are having success leveling up their production, booking guests, etc.

It's the most successful course I've made to date, and it's higher-priced too!

November 2, 2020 33 presales of my podcasting course! 馃く

Two weeks ago, I very quickly put up a landing page for a course I was thinking about building. Because of the success of my podcast Creative Elements, a lot of people ask me how I make such a high-quality show as an indie podcaster.

So I came up with the Podcast Like The Pros course where I would teach people my process for making high-quality, professional-sounding podcasts with a small team or a small budget.

My benchmark for success was 10 presale orders at a 50% presale price ($99 presale for $199 regular price).

I closed the presale yesterday with 33 presales of the course!

I kept this launch really, really simple. I had two dedicated emails to my audience (one announcement, one "final reminder) as well as put it in as a PS at the bottom of two other emails.

Then I shared the link on Twitter a couple of times, and a few of the course purchasers bought it.

This was a much more successful initial launch than my Freelancing School courses, and I think it was because I got really simple about the process.

Excited to build the course and deliver it by December! I am now testing a second presale pricing tier at $149 to see if that's still incentive for people to buy early before the course is complete.

October 24, 2020 10 presales of my podcasting course! 馃檶

When I launched the presale page for my course this week, I told my subscribers that I needed at least 10 preorders before Nov. 1 for me to commit to building the course. If I got 10 preorders, I'd complete the course by Dec. 1. If I didn't get 10 preorders, everyone would get their money back on Nov. 1.

I woke up this morning to see my 10th preorder came through overnight.

At a $99 presale price, that gives me a quick $1K!

It looks like I'll be building this course!

October 21, 2020 Launched the presale landing page

On Wednesday, October 21, I decided that I'd test the waters and see if my audience was actually interested in purchasing a paid course to learn how to produce a professional-sounding show.

I woke up at 4am and felt inspired to get a presale page up and send it out to my email list as a test.

I spent all morning building the page, and emailed my audience to let them know that if I received 10 preorders by Nov. 1, I'd deliver the final course by Dec. 1.

By ordering before Nov. 1, they saved 50%.
