20 days past after the latest update which was the landing page of Prodhunt. One or two sales happened in the meantime, more than 40 domains re-taken.
Now, finally I eat the frog and started the day working on the landing page for the Treasury.
I took my own advice and before jumping into youtube tutorials where they explain fancy transitions, absurd layouts. I've Read The Fabulous Documentation and realized all this time my tailwind code to tangle was to forget using
container class in the root element.
After that, all was a breeze, I'm again happy with the copy. This is my second ever landing page. It's like expecting the muscles grow while thinking about going to the gym. Instead I opt in to start writing. Not the best headline or the template, yet it feels good to come up with something and put it into internet.
If you are reading this, check out https://prodhunt.com/treasury and let me know what do you think.
A lot has changed in a few days. I've made a bold move to change my twitter handle. Especially for an indie hacker who kinda unlocked this achievement by getting lucky.
It was a hard decision but it's better late than never. I've created 0xAnil to share English/entrepreneurial tweets yet I've realized that I wasn't using the original handle at all since I've started indiehacking.
Anyways, in the meantime I've updated the landing page with the awesome feedbacks I gathered from fellow members. Appreciate them all.
Here is a preview of before and after.
I've went through the whole copy, shortened the headline. Explained use-cases and bullet-point the what's inside part.
And those illustrations from undraw, oops! I forgot to credit.
If you like to see its evolution;
I guess I fell in love with the Vercel. ❤️
I was digging the old folders to take an old screenshot. I wasn't sure if I was able to see previous versions as snapshots, yet here we are.
Checked the domain list and saw that 42 of them taken back!
Mostly parked but as I check, 4 of them redirected to related projects. Which was a use case I didn't think of. $10 to thousands of backlinks, fair deal.
Other 4 actually started to build something which is awesome! I'll be keeping an eye on them.
To celebrate, prices are 42% off or for the next 48 hours, whichever comes first. Buy Link
If you don't want to spend a dime, you can follow Prodhunt on twitter where I share these domains occasionally.
Special thanks to Maeva for her brilliant suggestions¹ and Chris for encouraging me to give it another go².
I can't say it's looking good or am I feeling great about it. Previously I used a free template from cruip, now I've copied some parts from tailwindcss' website and altered. Even with copying some code, it took longer than what I'd want to spend. However I'm relieved to finally be able to write some copy (not claiming it's great either), which was a troubling topic for me. Nice to remove this from to-do list. Now to move on to some marketing. 2-15 more sales to hit yearly goal. Shouldn't be hard to achieve within 27 days. 🤞
Recently I created a twitter account for Prodhunt. I'll be sharing abandoned projects with their .com domains. As an additional information I'll include backlink and referring domains count from ahrefs.
It's highly inspired from @productnames by Stephen. If you are looking for unexplored ideas you should check that out.
Next stop will be the youtube channel where I'll be sharing daily bar chart races for products on PH.
I wasn't going to create a landing page, now I'm creating social media accounts. You can follow Prodhunt on Twitter.
I'm going to share daily chart-races, some weird account activities and occasional tips and tricks to improve your launch.
Recently I got great suggestions to improve the landing page. Since I'm putting more effort & time on it, this'll affect the prices. It's going to be $420 after BF. That's when I set the deadline for the new LP. So 🤞 for some copy inspiration!
Give it a follow and expect to get limited discounts after the price change.
Have a nice day!
It's time to share a collage. Here is a list of what I did and what I expected to happen in a short period of time.
Bought a domain
Created a landing page
Shared on IH, HN, Reddit
Well domain cost seems nothing but also went for nothing at least for now. Landing page was a huge work for me since I can't assemble a sentence when I try to work on it. I always started from 0 to learn CSS. This time I went with a free template and it turned out to be meh, ok-ish.
Anyways, here are the results :)
That 1 view was mine. It seems to me "Give give give then ask" was an expensive and useless advice that I got recently.
Haters only show up when it reaches to popular feed I think. I didn't expect anyone to say great job, only curious to hear their thoughts.
At least it's not removed by mods 👍
I have written a few posts about Prodhunt earlier on IH. First was called Repurpose which explains where the idea came from specifically which tweet pushed me to work on this.
Second one where I introduced it to fellow IH.
And the last one tells me that I need to implement my own analytics and checkout process. Which needs to wait. I've been slacking for the last month just to prepare a landing page that I finally started and finished within a day. Bought a domain and released it into the wild.
Finally time to move on. This has been bugging me for a while, now I'll get a good sleep and start working on the next idea. 💪🏼
