After knowing that sometimes people find popups annoying, but a need for the product owners, I decided to give it a try and make them personal and more friendly by showing your face behind the product :)

August 26, 2020 Shutting down my side hustle - Prosper

10 months ago, I launched Prosper which started as an NPS software, but ended up becoming a marketing tool. I’m writing this to reflect on why I won't be working on Prosper anymore.

The idea was simple: Video Popups.

Despite getting initial traction, the product failed at an idea level. Being a new solution in the market, it didn't even matched the performance of average popups out there.

It was a hard decision for me. I have tried to write down what went wrong, and what learnings I have got here.

October 15, 2019 Launched on Product Hunt

Just posted Prosper on Product Hunt! If you liked the idea, would be happy to see your support on PH.

Thought of sharing the things I did for PH that can help you guys:

  1. Because launch day can be exhausting, I prepared everything earlier.
  • Name
  • Tagline
  • Product Photos
  • Twitter Tweet Storm
  • Product Description
  • First Comment
  1. Communities
Being active in some communities on telegram and slack helps a lot during the launch to give it a initial boost

  2. Thinking for the long run
One thing that I kept clear from the beginning is, Product Hunt is not the marketing strategy, but it's a part of it. Don't get caught up in the vanity metrics like upvotes, pageviews etc. What will matter at the end of the day is how many people are using your product!

That's it. But if you liked the idea or hated it, please share your feedback on PH 👇

October 13, 2019 Completed the product, while having a 9-5 job

After some months, I'm feeling positive that my product now can be used by the outside world.

I'm working on Prosper, after my 9-5 job. There were many ups-downs while building the product. And, sometimes I lost motivation midway. But, I tried to keep showing up every time, after taking a little break and starting refreshed.

I usually don't focus on streaks or any such metrics, but I'm focusing on consistency and at least doing little work every day.
When you have 9-5, it's hard to be focused, and little things you do every day keeps you motivated.

And, yeah what Prosper is? Prosper is a video popup tool to capture the email address of your visitors.

Cheers, and keep pushing!
