Lessons Learned @$1M ARR

This month we're happy to announce a major milestone in the development of our company. This month we've eclipsed the $1M ARR mark.

That being said, we've learned some pretty tough lessons about business and the market.

  1. Product Doesn't Win. Marketing and Sales Win. We learned this on the way to 1M - and it was a kick in the nuts to us (we're all product first guys). Better marketing and sales organizations win over great products that no-one knows about / gets undersold.

  2. Establishing Process Is Key. It was easy as a fledgling startup to run everything as nimble as possible, but as we grow, establishing protocol and process has begun to save us time and again.

  3. Invest in Key People. Finding the right team became very important at around $250k ARR. Start looking for the right people who are hungry and can help your business early and often - and when you find them, take GREAT care of them.
