I have always loved listening to podcasts since 2014. I've walked away from plenty of interesting conversations that made me think- what if I had recorded and broadcasted them?

November 16, 2020 >1.3k listens!

Definitely still a work in progress, but I have come up with a system for marketing each episode- generating list of subreddits that may be interested in the content, crafting a title that is relevant to each subreddit.

I am also getting referrals to other prospective interviewees, so that's good!

October 11, 2020 More than a thousand total listens

After 8 interviews, PyJamas Pillow Talk has officially more than 1000 total listens! It has been grunt work of sharing via individual reddit comments- I'm thinking what ways are there that'll allow me to be more efficient with marketing. I suppose it is partly the slow work of getting quality conversations on the podcast with under-appreciated individuals, then slowly having more guests that have a bigger audience onto the podcast while still maintaining the pool of interesting ideas from less appreciated people.

September 29, 2020 300 total listens

Just actively sharing on Reddit, Twitter and LinkedIn. It's a long grind of replying to individual posts instead of spamming, but I see it as putting money into the band and letting compound interest work its magic over the long term. Starting something is hard, but that is to be expected.

September 20, 2020 200 total listens

Took about slightly less than 2 months to crack this- when I first launched the podcast I was hesitant about sharing it on Reddit etc because I didn't want to be spammy, but I'm very grateful that I've been seeing an increase in the number of listens once I've started sharing them!

September 19, 2020 First 5 star review on Apple Podcasts!

I shared a particular podcast episode with my philosophy professor on my university's subreddit (r/NUS)- I was initially worried that it will be seen as spammy and not well-received, but it turns out that it became one of the most upvoted posts for that day!

I also had two users leaving comments that they really like the episode, and also my highest single day listen (45).
