Getting cold feet

No one has signed up. I don't know where I should find users.

Is this a good idea to stop this and save on the subscription fees I'm paying? Or should I just push it forward. I kind of think thin most exciting part was building it. After the launch and not getting any encouragement I kind of think I don't like to do this anymore.

It looks like you're using Sharetribe which has a premium price from what I remember.

I used it for a marketplace business idea a few years ago, but the model didn't work and I ended the contract about two months after launching.

If your monthly fees are what I think they are, I'd terminate the Sharetribe subscription and look for an alternative. You could achieve the same outcome (although it wouldn't look / work as nicely) for a fraction of the price using Blogger and a pre-built template.

Try searching Youtube for "Marketplace template" and see what pops up ;)

Build a V2 in one weekend and then focus all your efforts on driving traffic without the expensive monthly costs.

If your idea catches on, you can upgrade back to Sharetribe with profits you've already earned from paying customers.

Yes, sharetribe is not cheap and that's another reason why I like to succeed or fail fast :)

I checked youtube, yeah seems like it's easier than I thought at first!

      Thanks Andrew. Highly appreciated.

I’d consider checking relocation, expatriation, and digital nomad communities on sites like Reddit and Facebook groups. Start answering some questions and providing value to folks relocating, share your story, get involved. @harrydry wrote an awesome article last week about how he drives traffic to his mailing list...the techniques should work for products, too.

I have some other feedback about my impressions of your app and some suggestions for the product itself. If you’re open to it, I’m happy to share.

Thanks Andrew. Nice pointers. I just posted on Redit.

Sure, any feedback would be highly appreciated.

Cool! Send me a note at [email protected] so I know what email address to share a GDoc with. I like using a doc we can collaborate in and comment back and forth.
