Discover high-paying remote jobs, every week
We want to surf the wave of remote jobs
We have been working to build the system up for Remotists.com over the past month by developing code to be able to better automate the sourcing of jobs and to improve quality.
Also, We launched employers offering.
Lastly, We hit 3000 subscribers, up from 1700 when we bought them 40 days ago. A lot of hard work goes into picking the jobs and even more, time distributing it.
What's working for Remotists.com currently:
Lots of distribution Every channel becomes saturated soon and we don't want to spam - so we are trying new channels with each issue.
We have actively asked our users to refer our newsletter to family and friends who might find it useful. This has resulted in a good number of signups.
And that's it. Realising that building a list is a grind more often than not.
Our facebook and twitter pages have sprouted as well but still trying to settle down on what content works the best.
If the IH community needs any help with hiring, let us know. We are still waiting for our first revenue. :)
We are at 2026 to be precise for Remotists.com . We still see a very big inflow from reddit when we post a link to the content and the newsletter is shared more. We have been testing with what is the best moment to send it out and for us Tuesday is the best day. We started up with twitter 2 weeks ago and are seeing there some early uptake too. Exciting times.
Our remote jobs newsletter has 1728 subscribers.
We got 452 email sign-ups last week. Since the acquisition of Remotists a fortnight ago, we are averaging ~70 subscriptions per day.
Our Distribution Channels:
We posted across 22 subreddits but only one post got trending. However, that resulted in a good number of feedbacks and healthy website traffic - 1,031 website visitors, with 25 sign-ups (2% conversion rate).
LinkedIn groups are not very active. We tried posting updates but nothing substantial happened here till now.
We don't want to spam all the remote communities as impression sticks, so we treading carefully here and trying to be indirect.
Here's a screenshot of substack analytics in case you wanted to see where our subscribers come from.
Thanks for reading. In case you want to check out our newsletter for yourself here's a link.
We send the lastest remote jobs list every week via email. Any questions, hmu :)
So we bought remotists.com
What will be our goal ?
My target is to always become the best in your niche.
so in our case we have some strong players to compete against
I had a look at what most people would consider the strongest player and had a look how many jobs he has that are open to apply (I am not talking about the thousands old job offers he keeps there for SEO reasons) the target is 1550 Job offers.
We are currently tracking 2500 companies with remote jobs (still building our software stack), and i am sure in a few weeks to maybe a month we will be able to hit that mark.
so this is our target !!
If you want to see the results ?
subscribe on remotists.com
I contacted the previous owner based on his post that he was winding down the service and offered a price with little conditions.
Important for me was that i know the IH community so i knew i could trust him.
So i had no problem with paying the money before i received anything from his side.
If it would have been a +5000 USD deal I would have considered pushing for escrow.
Why did i want to buy it ?
I always wanted to do something in the online jobs space. The newsletter provides me with the opportunity to start with a head start. By having an audience that will approve or dismiss our ideas. I bought 3 months of time and a decent .com domain.
We will probably do a post in the next weeks with our plans
