Won TechCrunch Disrupt Battlefield!

We weren't planning to apply to Battlefield, but after hearing our pitch a TechCrunch reporter suggested we should. We applied without any expectations, but worked really hard on our presentation and pitch. Made it to the main event (with a 2.6% acceptance rate), and finally to the finals as one of five teams.

All the other teams were equally amazing (if not more so), so it was a genuine surprise when we won!

A lot of teams who were selected hadn't raised any funding, so if you're reading this and thinking of applying, you should. Miss all the shots you don't take and all that.

The best thing when you're doing or about to do something, do it without expectations. This way you won't feel the pressure of failing, and if you win the joy will be greater because you didn't expect it.

Congrats to you and your team!

I use it for IH and found it super easy to use. But I was coming from AWS, which was a bit of a nightmare.

Oh, it's because we don't support PHP natively yet. It's on our list: https://feedback.render.com/features/p/native-php-support. If you upvote it we'll send you a notification. For now, you can use our Laravel Docker tutorial: https://render.com/docs/deploy-php-laravel-docker
