Finished MVP 🏗

Having a full-time job, friends, and girlfriend that I want to spend time with, it took me 1 month to finish the beta version of this project.

I chose technologies that I already know (or heard), so I would be confident implementing it👇

  • Nextjs
  • Strapi
  • Tailwindcss

I am happy with the results as the app is quite fast thanks to Nextjs (frontend) and Strapi (backend).

Tailwindss is a very good library for creating interfaces, and it's very difficult to mess something up.

How do you plan to attract reviewers to your site?

      Good question!

I am going to experiment with different strategies.

I thought about not allowing users to post if they don't have any comments (pattern from http://roastmygame.com). It looks a bit cruel but it seems to work.

As well as leaderboards, trophies, point systems, etc.

I didn't add it to MVP because there are no many posts/comments, but I am thinking to add it later.

Also, I am currently at the launch stage and gathering feedback from users about what they are looking for.

If you have any ideas, then I would be excited to hear them 🙂

Yes, this is a really good question. Being a coder like yourself and never delivered a ready product or a working MVP means that I never got this far... but this is where things are getting really exciting and I would love to hear what will you come up with and what you learn.

Not being able to post before commenting is a neat trick. I feel it is similar how stackoverflow leads the newly registered users before allowing them to answer questions, upvotes and encouraging the right contributing behavior. I think there are ideas there that can be useful for your site too...

Good point, I will have a look at StackOverflow's strategy.

Thank you! Sure, I will share my knowledge about what I learned 😉

Wish you good luck with it! What are you building? 🙂

      1. 1

I am looking to build something simple. Like a Pomodoro tool. I know that there are thousands of them out there. But I just need to put out something that can stand as a product/service on its own... :)

Cool! Excited to see the final product 😊

    That's pretty fast! Congrats.

    Congrats, that's a big achievement!
