Happy moment - Got our first paid customer 🎉🎉

Utsav @utsav

As an indie hacker with 0% investment and 100% expertise, you would be able to empathize with why am I so happy.

A few months ago, I started Micro SaaS Ideas with a friend with a dream to help indie hackers and bootstrappers with validated ideas.

Yesterday, we got our first paid customer and when I saw the email, I couldn’t control myself & I immediately called my friend (partner) and my younger brother to inform them of this huge news.

It took us a while to get our first paid subscriber customer. While, the number might be insignificant in terms of money but as an Indie hacker, these milestones are very important to keep the momentum going.

Here is how it went:

Here is how it went: !

Hell, it's only the beginning. We have new and exciting things lined up for every one of you and this milestone has given us the motivation to double down our efforts and get things done.

You can subscribe to our newsletter to get the Micro SaaS ideas in your inbox. And you can also connect with me on Twitter where I am pretty active. I would love to discuss ideas, solutions, and suggestions regarding Micro SaaS.

    1. 1

Yeah of course. Single steps lead you to a thousand steps.

      Thanks Griffin!

Nothing more exciting than your first sale to help validate your idea! If one person is willing to pay for it there must be others.

    1. 1

Thanks, Joe. This is was much needed.

  6. 2

    congratulations Utsav!

    Two micro SaaS idea/month

For $20/month??? Are you kidding me?

    1. 2

Why do you find it expensive? What you were expecting the prices to be?

      1. 1

Because I wrote a book on the same topic. It has 23 ideas, has more 150 pages, and costs just 19.99. And I believe it's a good price. Your product is overpriced IMHO.

    2. 2

Exactly my thoughts. Also there is no price difference between monthly and quarterly plans.

      1. 1

Thanks for pointing out. We haven't worked on our pricing yet, as we were focusing on shaping our newsletters and delivering value to our users.

This is something on my to-do to revisit the pricing and make it easily understandable.

      Is three ok for $19/month

      🤷‍♂️

      1. 1

        Same overpriced product.
        What else?

        1. 1

          Well, it works.

          https://gist.github.com/jorendorff/4659406

This also works, but when you pay it works better.

          1. 1

Okay, specially for you. I'm selling my book
            https://www.saasforge.dev/books/23-ideas-for-your-next-saas
            to you for $999.

According to your theory, it should work much, much better than for the standard price of 19.99. Please send payment via paypal to info at saasforge.dev.

            1. 2

I'm too lazy to link a book about irony priced at 19.99.

Priced things perceived more valuable than freebies. There should be studies out there to prove it. Anyways, I'm giving away ideas for free.

You don't need to pay me $19/month for a SaaS ideas, but feel free to buy me a coffee.

  9. 1

    Congrats Utsav! You rock!

Can I ask you what's your user acquisition strategy?

One paid user in one month, it's impressive.

    1. 1

      Thanks Jeremy!

I will be writing a detailed post soon but if I want to say in a line than it would be "Give give give and then take"
