Launching a SaaS directory for COVID-19 products

There are many way we can contribute to fighting COVID-19. You can help your neighborhoods with doing groceries, some will call their grandparents and other convert their hacker spirit into building tools.

For that last group of people I've build a directory where everybody can add SaaS tools to find tools that will help you fight COVID-19. In these times business can use our helping hand as well, so feel free to use these services as well when you can afford it.

I started with a simple tweet asking for products with a COVID-19 discount:

Soon I realized many people where adding products to this list. I grabbed to tools that I know and build a simple open source website in Vue.js with a live CSV pull out of Google Sheets. No database, just a simple connection to the public spreadsheet.

I uses all kind of images and templates (listed in the footer) to build this website fast and beautiful. With the help of Amrit I found this great website to generate gradients: cssgradient.io. Together with a theme from tailwindtoolbox.com and icons from iconmonstr.com I have the site up in no time. Only needed a name. I asked a few groups online and Erwin AI from WIP came up with saas4covid.com. I converted it to saasforcovid.com and the name we born.

Let's see how much this product will help to fight COVID-19 together with the whole Indie Hackers community.
