🤷‍♂️This month was really really weird for us. We had a really slow start with almost no new customers for the first 8 days of the month. We did not know if it was logical or not. We investigated but could not find anything. After the first weeks, things went back to normal. We also had many interesting leads contacting during this last week of November, leads that we hope will take our custom enterprise plan.

📣 In terms of traffic, the increase from last month in mainly due to the Indie Hacker interview we did sooner this month, available here 👉https://www.indiehackers.com/interview/how-we-turned-two-failures-into-a-2-500-mrr-success-33f7cd2114. We haven't had many times to blog, but this won't be the case in December 😎.

💔This month we really began to understand the importance of churn. With almost one new customer churned every 4 days, we did everything we could to understand why they did, sending as much as 6 emails in a row. The thing is, they all churned because they only needed ScrapingBee for a small amount of time and did not need it anymore, we saw that as a good news.

🚀This month we sold PricingBot, the first SaaS we launched last year that was doing price monitoring. While it was quite easy to find an agreement, the actual process of selling takes a lot of time. You have to answer any questions to many many people and be available for any inquiries they had. This is now behind us and will free us a lot of time to focus on ScrapingBee.

All in all, we are happy with our December results, we have also written our "roadmap" for the next 3 months and I can't wait to share with you all the improvements, features and marketing strategies we want to implement for ScrapingBee.

Happy Indie Hacking!

Nice work! Maybe you could offer a different pricing/product offering to the churn segment?

I'll definitely have use for this product down the line. :-)

Yes this is actually a good idea, we tried it before and managed to reactivate one customer.

I have to admit we don't try that hard to reactivate customer who say "I don't need your product anymore but will come back to it later", maybe we are wrong.

Maybe you could sell API credits with no expiry date? Sell them at a premium price. You could then send e-mails to remind users they still have x number of credits left. A legit reason to pester users that have gone cold.

        1. 1

That is actually a great idea! We will definitely try this.

          Thank you!

Congrats on stats! Regarding selling PricingBot, can you give us some details on how did you find the buyers (a short line of events, what you can tell, of course)?

      Hey, and thank you.

I am actually currently writing a blog post explaining all the details of the acquisition!

But to answer your question, I reached out for him as he was the CEO of one of our biggest competitor.

Hey, unfortunately I can't say that, but I am allowed to say, "for a price of a nice car" ;).

No paid traffic at all, we rely heavily on content!
