Open report September - We reached $1500 MRR

πŸ”Ž Visitors: 6,041
πŸ‘‹ New Users: 178
🀝 New Customers: 15
πŸ’° MRR: 1510$ (+30%)
πŸ“£ Incoming (forced) Rebranding: 1

We had fewer visitors in September compared to August. This can be explained by two things, the post-launch effect (we had a great PH launch in August) and the fact that we're in the middle of a (forced) rebranding so we could not blog as much as we'd like.

πŸš€ The great news this month is the conversion rate from trial to paying customer. We went from about 4% in August to 8.5% in September.

πŸ’Œ We've set up several automatic email sequences (<3 Mailerlite) to educate our users about our API and Web scraping in general, and also automatically remind them when they reach their free trial limits.

πŸŽ‰ We also saw our first automatic upgrade. Meaning we had a customer on the smallest plan who reached his API call limit, received an email and upgraded to a higher plan!

Churn: 2 users on the smallest plans churned, we reached out to them to find why, and surprisingly they told us they loved the product ❀️ but only needed it for a one-time project!

It's not the first time we see this use case, and we're wondering if we should create an option to pay in advance for API credits.

How do you handle such use cases?

    Good job πŸ‘

  2. 1

Yeah, we do prepaid credits on top of subscription. For your product that makes sense, too, I think. Lots of people who come in only looking to do one-time will churn.

In fact, our churn rate is pretty much 100% for those who only need to do it one-time (we're an email verification service).
