Launched paid course (grossed $35K the first week)

Per Borgen @perborgen

Last week, we launched our very first paid course on Scrimba, and we've already seen over 1300 students enroll, meaning it's grossed over $35.000. This is a huge relief for us, as it's the first time we've actually tested whether people are willing to pay for Scrimba courses. Luckily, they are!

The course is called The Responsive Web Design Bootcamp and teaches you to build responsive websites on a professional level. It's taught by the brilliant teacher Kevin Powell and it contains 15 hours of high-quality interactive Scrimba tutorials.

We're especially pleased with the success given that there's a ton of free resources on responsive web design out there already. We feel that this launch proves that if you build a great product, grow an audience, and gain trust from that audience, it doesn't matter that you teach a subject that has been taught dozen times before by other people.

The price is currently $29 but it will be increased to $99 after the launch period (on Friday).
