OMG First paying customer!

Whooooooooooooooooooooooooooop!!! Yeah!

I think my first paying customer may be a reader of this site, so if it is you, please accept my gratitude. You are my VIP and I will do what it takes to make your experience a good one.

I came up with the idea for selfhostedgit.com three months ago and from the beginning it has felt different with quite a bit of validation, from search volume to landing page traction to feedback from potential customers, and the core product is right in my wheel house. All signs have been positive. Everything's coming up Milhouse!

According to this site I've attempted six products so far with varying degrees of success, but this is the first time I have had a genuine monthly subscription signup and it feels amazing!

To celebrate I'd like to offer to the next 10 people who email me, one month of free git hosting on their own Gitea VPS with no obligation. It would really help me out to get your feedback on the beta.

Thank you!

I hope to be on your level. I've got the promise of one person to be my first customer and even if that person doesn't follow-through on that. It helped a lot to keep motivated. Use the excitement to keep pressing-on and forward.

Thanks! I got it in my spam folder. Helped you out and marked it as not-spam. Hopefully that helps!

I love this idea and may become a customer soon once I have time to move repos and such.

Have you thought about doing this with other apps as well? Like Rocket Chat, LibreOffice, NextCloud, etc.?

Also, you should post it in https://www.reddit.com/r/selfhosted/ if you haven’t already.

    Congrats!

Hey @kaxline, I would love to set you up a free account for a month so you can test it out. I'm really keen to get feedback at the moment. Can let you know the commands to point your repos etc. for testing - let me know if you'd be willing to give it a shot.

Certainly thought about doing the same thing for other apps. The nice thing about Gitea is it is very well written software and so there are no headaches getting it up and running. If this business works it would make a lot of sense.

In particular I think people would like Calendar + Email that is under their own control, what do you think? What are the top self-hosted apps you'd want to see?

Thanks for the tip to post on /r/selfhosted! Will do.

OK awesome, I actually have a lot of thoughts about this and here might not be the best place for it. Although @csallen, feel free to say otherwise. Not sure if these forums are intended for extensive back and forth about product ideas.

My email is keith at axline dot io if you want to hit me up there.
