I've created a beta test thread on BlackHatWorld forum to get feedbacks from SEO users, and we received our first 25 signups today.
I started recolting some interesting feedback. There is little bugs to fix here and there but mostly the platform seems to work so I'm quite happy with that.
It took a few months, but I'm finally done building the minimum viable product for SEOwl.
I worked mostly evenings and weekends, and I coded the whole thing in PHP in order to improve in my web skills, even though it's not my favorite language.
There are things that I would judge overkill for a MVP, but I still wanted a good user experience even for an MVP so I took some time to build some extra details like a demonstration tours or a beautiful documentation to help users get started.
That delayed the opening of the beta, but now I'm excited to start talking to customers and see what they think about the product so far!
So now the product is in open beta and every free user has access to the PRO plan features in order to test the product :)
To see if this if this idea would work, I started developing the tool as a side project.
I was telling myself that even if the product does not work I would have learn to develop a SaaS product from scratch.
Hek, I got both !
A working product and learned a lot, both in developing skills & IT management to configure & setup the necessary infrastructure.
