Launching: Branded Background
by Mubashar IqbalI always enjoy working with "first time" makers, and this time was no exception.
I've known Adam Marx for many years, and this was our first opportunity to work together on a project.
Like everyone else it seems we've been thrown into to Pandemic fueled Zoom calls. On one of these Zoom calls we discussed how some people started to create custom virtual backgrounds that included their company logo, so their brand could be displayed during their business calls.
Not everyone is able to create these custom images, and we started to wonder if it would be possible to create a tool that anyone could use to create their own virtual background with just a few clicks.

The whole project took a couple of weekends, and after some early testing from friends we are ready to launch it to the world.

Hi Mubs, that's a cool project, but how is it different to just slapping a logo (with transparent background) on top of any image? (can be done in canva or even paint)

Sure you could, and you could use photoshop or Figma or whatever to make the image, but you'd be surprised how many people think that is too complicated.
I wanted to build something that made is super simple, and do some of the leg work for people so they don't have to find an appropriately sized background.
I also think this could be a trend as more video chat applications offer this kind of feature, and if that happens I'll be extending the app to support the format they require as well.
