SimpleID came about as a direct result of the struggles I had with my other product, Graphite. Onboarding and authenticating users to a decentralized app is difficult. The idea behind SimpleID is to make that simple.

September 17, 2019 Ethereum Support Proof of Concept

We've had very basic Ethereum support in SimpleID up until now, but we want to make sure Ethereum developers can use the frameworks they are used to to build Ethereum apps with SimpleID. We now have a framework in place that works in our testing environment. We should be pushing this out to production this week. This will be a huge step forward as it will allow Ethereum devs to build apps that don't require extensions like Metamask.

September 12, 2019 First Customer Case Study Published

We've had good traction since our launch, but we've had one customer in particular who has been a great partner for us. They have launched their app with our dev tools integrated and are currently in the process of scaling. They were gracious enough to let us do a case study on them:

September 10, 2019 Averaging 50% week over week growth

While we don’t expect to continue this level of growth forever, this has been exciting to see. It validates the market for us. To achieve this, we’ve refrained from paid marketing. We’ve set an internal goal of no paid marketing until we have at least 100 developers signed up.

What we’ve focused on is content and direct communication with developers. So far that’s worked well.

Next up: a HackerNews re-launch.

August 21, 2019 Product Hunt Launch

Launched on Product Hunt and finished as the number 4 product of the day. We ended up with over 300 upvotes. This started with people we knew upvoting but quickly turned into members of the PH community seeing value and commenting and upvoting. It was the largest driver of traffic at launch.

July 1, 2019 Product Idea

Launched a survey to help validate the idea. This was the first step to proving that SimpleID could be something useful for others outside of the original product it was designed to serve. Turns out, based on the survey responses, this could be a useful tool for many.
