Way, way overdue...
I finally took the time to finish up and launch a pre-release website for SiteSanity and "announced" it on LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter. Not so much to get traffic, but more to plant my flag in the sand and let the world know what I'm working on.
Since part of what I do also is consulting, obviously it's highly helpful to have a site up.
It's a scary thing letting friends, acquaintances, and total strangers see something you have built from scratch yourself. That said, the response has been very positive and I really do wish I'd done this way sooner.
Obviously it's a WIP and I'm hardly the world's best web designer, but I'm getting better. Next up for the site is adding a blog, and separating out the consulting services to a separate page.
Now I just need to avoid the temptation to redesign the whole thing... :)
