Today marks 1 year of WordPress maintenance for our first client. It's been a ride but most importantly we learned a lot. A couple of things we learned:
- Use a WordPress host that provides automatic backups, stage links and easy to migrate between stage and live. We currently use getflywheel since we like their local development app.
- Create a recurring task to remind you to update the website. I have mine set for 10th and 25th.
- Create a report where you send them what you did each month. Something simple, like you, update x plugin from version 1 to version 2. We realized she was overwhelmed when we gave her too much information nor did she had time to go over it. Keep it simple
