I'm happy to announce the first version of Statikk: A tool which makes the creation of GatsbyJS sites a breeze.
I came up with the idea for Statikk while reading the awesome Makebook of Peter Levels about 2 months ago. Then, after validating a few other business ideas, I decided to go with this product and started to build the MVP in October.
Statikk is trying to make the process of building static sites with GatsbyJS as easy as possible.
It works like this: The user chooses a template, can customize it in the Statikk Editor (an editor built with efficiency instead of maximum flexibility in mind), and then download the site as a ZIP file. Everything which wasn't possible to customize in the editor can now be customized coding. The code exported from Statikk aims to be as clean and understandable as possible, so that the cheerful experience doesn't end when leaving the Statikk Editor.
This first MVP consists of a simple landing page and one theme for the Statikk Editor.
I also added an E-Mail signup form and a few "Coming Soon" cards for possible future templates.
The goal of this first phase is to gather as much feedback as possible from early adopters to create a suitable business model and find out what adds the most value.
