First positive experience on reddit (459 Upvotes)

I've used Reddit on and off for the last nine months building Streakoid.

It's been a mixed bag. With lots of hate, some positive users and an occasional ban. 😂

But Yesterday I had the first breakthrough with a post on the Habits and routines of Usain Bolt. 👑

I've struggled with marketing Streakoid. Because I underestimated the challenge of marketing and I decided to focus on the product.

I'm a strong believer without a solid product marketing is useless. (I disagree with all growth hacks and publicity stunts prior to product market fit)

I believe Yesterday's reddit post went well because:

  1. I was focused on delivering as much value to the reddit community as I could.
  2. I broke the text up into easy to read sections.
  3. Use relevant emojios as dividers.
  4. Nailed the content for the correct audience.
  5. Made sure to engage with community.

Moving forward I will continue to try and replicate this.

My main challenge is being consistent working and sharing the content now that Streakoid is ready for more users as it has proven to help build better habits and routines.

I've created a couple of daily habits (streaks) on Streakoid to make sure that I'm consistently working on content and marketing.

  • Post on indiehackers

I will continue to try and be consistent with the habits above and will let you know how the results go.
