#1 position on Product Hunt! - 300 users in 3 hrs!

What a time to read more books! I'm so glad that summerian.net was hunted by @alexanderisora and featured #1 on Product Hunt! ๐Ÿ”ฅ ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿฟ

It was quite a ride actually. We got hunted quite late, the app was posted at 00:30 PST and was about 20 upvotes behind the chart leader. For the next 2 hours, we slowly climbed to the top as people were flooding in organically :D

I feel so emotional after today's launch. Summerian is on another level when compared to Habitify (which is my first, official indie project).

For each summary to be polished and published, it will require a reader, a proofreader, a designer, a coder, an audio-maker, a marketer and a customer supporter. The total cost was over $50 per summary (even more), which eats up the budget so dramatically that I again had a hard time sustaining the whole project until this launch day ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Drop by and let me know your thoughts about the product, will you? We're having around 300 readers at the moment, and I'm thinking of making a community for you to share your knowledge ๐Ÿ“š

Wow - on fire lately! Just a heads up, that it looks like all the summary items on https://summerian.net/ are showing "Psychology" right now underneath "Open your eyes...". I assume those headers should differ? Can't add a screenshot, but refreshed a few times.

Hello! Thanks for pointing that out! My web dev forgot to deploy the newer version. Telling him to fix right now!

Fyi I had to disable my ad blocker when logging in using Google, ad blocker was blocking the Google APIs script. Sick site.

Oh really? Thanks! Let me check with the backend!

congrats on the traction, any idea on how you plan on monetizing?

    1. 1

Thanks @beefin! Yeah, we have already implemented the pricing strategy in the app. Technically people would need to pay in order to access the full version/audio version/offline version of a book.

Videos would also be a great addition

That's in the plan for 2020 ;) We really look forward to adding animation explanation video!

Congrats! Super great idea and clearly defined. Much success!

Thanks! It took us quite a while to finally decide on the copy of the page :)

I like that your summaries actually convey some useful information to readers? When you started that business as on the site it says "2013-2018 Summerian", Are you running this since 2013?

    1. 1

Oh no! It's my mistake. Let me change it!

Nice to hear that you have a successful launch! We also did our product hunt launch 4 weeks ago. What really helped us boost the ranking was to get everyone you know on board to upvote your product. With that, we achieved over 500 upvotes and also generated more than 500 sign-ups.

Thanks @cedrikd! We had a modest mail list of around 2000 beta testers, which helped us tremendously in this launch ;)

You need to do some minor improvements in the homepage design.

Hello @ankitchouhan, could you be more specific? Which one do you think I should prioritize now?

      1. 1

SVGs are not clickable so change the mouse pointer there. In owl-carousel change mouse pointer to hand.

Heads up, your landing pages breaks a little on large displays:

    Congrats! ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Note that there is a small issue on the homepage, the Summaries, redefined. text is invisible as it has the same color as the background.

Could you show me the screenshot? I checked on my site and it still looks fine...

Since we bootstrap ourselves, we are not having an abundant budget to spend on advertising. Our plan is to focus on SEO and organic growth ;)
