I started to build the mac app with SwiftUI but it was so hard to continue. SwiftUI was so badly broken in mac but the same code worked perfectly in iOS. So I decided to get the iOS onto TestFlight and see if other developers will be interested in this tool.
I got close to 100 testers in a week and I was improving the app at a good speed. But SwiftUI is so unstable in macOS and I was getting the weekly or biweekly BigSur and Xcode beta updates to check how it fares. Without exception, every single time, it was really disappointing.
Now, I've to decide between a UIKit Catalyst app or an AppKit app for the Mac.
Whenever I was working with SF Symbols for my app Countdown, I ended up most of the time copying the symbol instead of the name. iOS developers will know what I am talking about. And changing symbols and trying out multiple designs was hard. So I decided to fix the broken stuff and improve productivity when working with SF symbols.
My aim is to get the app ready for release alongside macOS 11.
