tagmate.io integration approved by Google

After a few days of launching tagmate.io last week, I noticed that people don't spend a lot of time on the live demo page using Hotjar. It turns out I forgot to submit the app ( OAuth consent screen) meaning everyone got an alert that this app is unsafe 🤦‍♂️.

I submitted the app and had to fix a few things and make a video describing how each scope is used and finally got approved.

I'm really glad for releasing soon and detecting this issue before sending cold emails to leads.

What about you? do you have any launch embarrassing moment like this?

Hey, good to hear that you fixed it quickly.
How long did it take you to get it approved by Google?

    1. 1

      It took 6 days.

I submitted via Google Console UI and got a quick reply to describe each scope than another one after to make a video describing how each scope is used. It took that much just because of the time zone difference I think!

Are you planing to use some Google API?

I'm not 100% sure yet but I think. For my product, I wanted people to give me access to their googlesheets, but they said that it can take up to several months and cost thousands of dollars so I'm still thinking about it (my product is not ready yet anyway)

Not sure about Google Spreadsheet, but if you want to try it out you could only use one scope on a mock app and submit it to have an idea about how much it takes.
