Supercharge your productivity
We're tired of having to cycle through a several messaging and project management tools to find all the info we needed to prioritise our day and get work done. So we decided to build something that unified them.
Basically everyone I talk to says 'update your landing page' and I agreed with them... I just couldn't find the motivation to do it. But I finally did, after looking at our conversation rates and realizing we can/should be doing better.
It was actually much easier than I thought it would be. We've been heads down in user interviews over the last month and the phrases people are using to describe their problems, and their impressions of the product, actually made writing the copy super easy. Yet another good reason to talk to users a lot.
Well... we went from 2 to 4 active users. But still, feels really good that we have built something that at least four people are getting value from since we launched the beta at the end of March.
We've learned a ton about who our target market is, and what their real problems are. It has helped us reprioritise our roadmap and our growth/marketing plan.
Things that don't scale and work well for us:
Super excited about where we are right now and can't wait for what next month brings 馃帀
It's been a while since the last update. But, we launched our beta about two weeks ago. Since then we have signed up nearly 25 users, with about five actives, and have done 15 or so screen share onboard to show users around the product.
Really early, but very excited about the response so far. We are finding new use cases and learning a ton from users. We really need to focus on the integrations, and how we extract data from those and make it useful for our users. In addition, users are really interested in focus and cutting down on distraction, so want to focus on more features that solve those headaches.
We really benefited from being strict about setting weekly goals, and doing everything we can to hit them. So, for example last week we set a goal to do 10 user onboard calls, and didn't rest until we hit that number. It fell great hitting it! Can't wait to hit this week's goal of 12 馃榾
Taskable is now live and ready to kick off a closed beta 馃帀
We spent a bit too much time working on things in the MVP that will never make it into production that seemed like a good idea during the build. That was partly because the bigger picture wasn't clear. So the key learning is that we need to set that bigger picture for the short, medium and long term and constantly evaluate product decisions against that.
We are mostly finished with our MVP as of today, and there happened to be a little demo night at our coworking space so we decided to give it a go. It was great to show off what we've been working on, and get direct feedback. Learned that our quick description seems to work, but most important when discussing the product is to address the problem we are trying to solve. It seemed to resonate well with the room.
We have started sending out invites to our list of pre-registered users to invite them for an onboarding video call. We are hoping to get a ton of quick feedback and early impressions, and also be able to show people around a bit and make sure they understand the key features.
We now have about 200 people pre-registered for Taskable 馃敟
We are using Ship from Product Hunt, and also posted to BetaList which have each generated about 100 signups each. It's been really helpful as we now have a nice pool of potential users to interview and validate some of our ideas.
We figured out the thing we wanted to see in the world, so over some BBQ we outlined the vision, MVP and timescales for what we wanted to achieve. We had the YC video about how to build an MVP in mind, and decided on a date to launch, and what minimum really means in mind, and started to build to the barest version of what our vision was.
We wrote more about it on our blog https://taskablehq.com/blog/food-product-market-fit-manifesto
