First paying customers

Immediately after the launch on ProductHunt I received my first notification from Stripe that a payment was successful. I didn't think much of it, other than "huh, already?". Then a few moments later came another notification. And then another.

Getting paying customers and becoming profitable on launch day is something every Indie Hacker dreams of. The pessimist in me instantly had to remind myself that this would just be a spike, and that when traffic from ProductHunt would decline, so would my profits.

I didn't have much time to celebrate my first paying customers, because I was busy fixing all the bugs. Remember, I intentionally launched with the knowledge that the product was far from perfect. Now with paying customers, I had something to motivate me continuing improving the product and fixing all them nasty bugs asap! I would be able to live with a clean conscience, knowing that people payed for something I had built that wasn't top notch.
