51 subscribers.

Finally crossed 50 subscribers after 4 months of launching. And there has been only one unsubscriber.

It has been a slow progress so far. Getting decent views on the posts. Around 100 views every week. But the conversion into subscribers is less.

Have come across few suggestions for growing an email list. Most common are lead magnets and giveaways. Not sure if these will retain the subscribers for a longer period.

Hey there. Just a couple of things from me. I believe the following will be useful

    • Put down how many people that you will join in the mailing list. Either be honest (50+ people) or lie a little. I'd personally be honest and say "Join 53 other people who read this every week" and make that automatically update

    • Social Proof. This is huge. Get some people to say why they have signed up. Get their photos if you can. Makes it more real

Hey @ray13, I've got a few case studies that could you might want to replicate to get more conversions:

    1. Use Fomo
-> People will be more likely to subscribe to your mailing list if they have FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) that if they don't, then they'll miss something.

    2. Use Content Upgrade

"For each blog post we put out, we created a premium piece of content that we would give to our readers in exchange for their email address"

Nevertheless, going slow is not necessarily a bad thing: your 50 subscribers could be really engaged with your newsletter (I am guessing your open rates are above 50-60%?)

Are you intending to monetize your newsletter in the future?

Thank you for sharing the suggestions. I will create a special resource or guide only for subscribers instead of publishing it.

Yes I do plan to monetise it later. Any idea on how many subscribers will be a decent number for any sponsor. The open rate is around 45% and link click 20-25%.
