As of September 5, I've sold +1,000 copies of my first eBook: The Developer's Guide to Content Creation. I spent a full six weeks before launch promoting the book endlessly by sharing updates on my writing, talking about the value prop, and sharing similar content from my blog with prospects. Since then, ALL of the sales have been organic; I blog at least monthly and will generate some sales from blog posts; my blog posts have also been picked up in a few developer newsletters.
I've been invited to speak on five podcasts this year which also helped expand my reach and I will see a tweet or two per month from someone promoting my book from word of mouth. I've focused on delivering value in the form of free content—blog posts, tweets, and my newsletter—which has helped increase my visibility. And lastly, the launch of my second eBook also helped increase sales of my first eBook.
I'm very grateful to all the devs who supported my work and found the eBook very helpful. Onward!
